April 23, 201412 yr The flap and gear sounds really make this product. Without them the immersion is lost. Hirdy
April 23, 201412 yr I bought the Turbo prop version of the duke and it's one of my favorites. Using the Estonia migration tool everything works including gear and flap sounds.
April 23, 201412 yr If I remember correctly Realair got in a right royal argument on the forums regarding an issue...It may have been Prepar3d 2 based. Nobody came out of that with any pride including Realair themselves. Ever since then it seems Prepar3d is off their radar...I do hope that it's not sulking. Shame as they are really a top developer and Prepar3d 2 is the way forward for their customer base. Dave

I just don't understand why they wouldn't jump into P3D support. I mean let's face it...P3D is FSX at heart. It's not as if P3D has a vastly different SDK. Realair and CS will die on the vine if they continue to bury their head in the sand. Ken
April 23, 201412 yr Real Air is not abandoning P3D. Never heard any such thing.. They are probably trying to figure out the nuts and bolts of it...since Real Air uses lots of custom stuff which is what makes their aircrafts so awesome.... they need to be able to deal with the new paradigm of P3D with its constant patch update. So I am sure Real air has to come up with a strategy on how to do custom candies for us along with the moving landscape. Just my thought on this subject. Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter

I don't follow every thread but I thought it was a 'wait and see' thing with them...to see if it catches on. And let's not forget that they're currently upgrading their Turbine Duke. I wouldn't expect to see anything until that is released and, maybe, after. Gregg Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. Ken To be fair to Real Air, let's all cool our jets before blasting them unfairly. Firstly, there is nothing really 'broken' in the Duke products from what I can see. Everyone seems to be running the Duke just fine. I can't speak for the other products in their flightline, because I don't have them. I think Real Air are only a 2 man band, so they are possibly stretched with existing support for FSX, or a another (undisclosed) development for FSX...who knows. To be fair, they have not failed to deliver on anything. They have delivered a solid product line for the best platform at the time (FSX). P3D was never part of their commitment at any point, so I find this 'get with the program or die' attitude quite insulting. I'm pretty sure that if P3D is commercially viable for them going forward, they will make appropriate decisions.
April 23, 201412 yr I hope you guys are right about RealAir. I do buy into the "Get with the program or die" however. Even after just 2 weeks with P3D I have no doubt P3D is the future of this "hobby". Yes, just like FS9 had a group of users who never moved to FSX I would imagine there will be a fan base for FSX. Whether that group will ever be large enough to support developers who support FSX only time will tell. Ken

Ken ----------------------------------------------------------- My opinion, FWIW: Those of us old enough to recall pre-FSX days will remember that every 2-3 years we got a new MS sim. Some were better than others, but almost all of them would not "correctly" run add-ons from any prior version without modifications and changes from the developers. This created an ongoing revenue stream for developer to fund more development. Post-FSX, for so many years now that I can't count (my numeric limit is 10, which is why I am a financial analyst ), there have been few enhancements required since no new versions- .. until P3D came along.... My take- let the developers produce valid modifications and installers for P3D v2.x in a way that they can adequately support this sim, and have us pay for it.. it restores cash flow to the developers and gives us the guarantee of support. And this will all take time.... Two things: I am not a developer nor know any personally, so I have "no horse in this race". And if a reasonable charge for an updated product is too much to pay, chances are that we are in the wrong hobby.... Anyway.. I'm as much into trying to install FSX versions as anyone here is.... but to get a fully developed installer and support for P3D I think we need to wait for the development and then compensate the developer for it... April 23, 201412 yr I can live with the sound problems, but no matter what I try, the left main wheel will not come back down once the gear has been retracted. Has anyone else had this problem? Ron Ron Gregory
April 24, 201412 yr I have the RealAir Turbine/Piston Duke and Legacy all installed in P3Dv2.2 no problem using EMT. For me the big setback is not being able to install the Reality XP GNS 530....I simply cant stand the stock GPS and outdated navdata of P3D! April 24, 201412 yr It really is sweet. Couldn't agree more. But flap and gear sounds are missing Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk could you not add the sound from a stock plane to the sound.CFG file? ATP MEL,CFI,CFII,MEI. Type Ratings B-737, ERJ-190,ERJ-170
April 24, 201412 yr For me the big setback is not being able to install the Reality XP GNS 530 I get that but, on the other hand, it is a great opportunity to practice basic navigation skills with the VORs and RMI. I'm just waiting for a native installer. I'm pretty sure we're going to take a bit of a step backwards for a while in the GNS530 even when the Mindstar gets integrated. April 24, 201412 yr I was able to solve the sound problem in P3D 1.4 by starting in the legacy mode from the EMT. Could that work as well in V2, using the fsx.exe that is installed?
April 24, 201412 yr simmerhead, but it works, even with the default installer! Even better if you no longer have fs2004 and fsx installed. Just use the registry fixer ( not EMT ), and create a dummy fsx.exe in the prepar3d folder. I'm not following this. Isn't there already a FSX exe file in the P3D folder?
