New Airport Scenery - Need Help With Parked Aircraft

Featured Replies

Looking for some advice - I finished my first "real" airport scenery (KMKG) and I'm starting on my next: KAZO. Kalamazoo is interesting as it has some cool terminal buildings as well as a stellar aviation museum.

And that is my challenge. The museum has several parked aircraft outside in the grass right next to the taxiway. What would be the best way to model these in game? Is anyone aware of the following aircraft created as a bgl?

Aircraft needed:

Fedex 727

S-3 Viking

T-33 Shooting Star

Lear 25 (I'd be ok with any Lear)

F-84 Thunderstreak

B-57 Canberra

F-104 Starfighter

MiG-21 (not a deal breaker if I can't find)

Several options for planes I cant find:

1. Find AI versions of these aircraft and turn them into a scenery bgl (with permission of course).

- This is a good way to use nice low poly aircraft

- Not sure how hard it is to find the right aircraft as well as getting permission to modify the files. That seems like a hassle.

2. Create a traffic file for AI aircraft so that they are "parked" constantly

- No need to modify the model into a scenery file

- May complicate things and seems kind of "hokey"

3. Option 3 - something I'm not aware of but you know....!

I do know that I have zero interest in actually creating models of these aircraft myself. If it comes down to that - they will probably just be left out - sadly.

Thanks for any help!

You may need to download a program called Static Aircraft Model Maker, then find add-on aircraft that match your needs and use this program to make static models.

My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.

That did the trick Stans, thanks!

Yeah!  I helped someone!   Glad it is working out for you.
