February 12, 200521 yr Well after downloading and checking the gauges, I cannot find any gauge with an attached sound file. I also installed the panel and there was no soundd as you described. Maybe one of the gauges did get overwritten and that is causing the problem. I really can't think of anything else do do at the moment. Maybe someone else has another idea.Good luck,Ed
February 12, 200521 yr Try commenting out this line:gauge24=rp727_2!altimeter, 453,511,81,80Worked for me...Doug
February 12, 200521 yr Doug:Success.Suc-fr#@&ggin-ess!I don't bull-leave it ! I don't geddit. This is NUTS!!....but then again, it is FS..JSP.S. Course there's no altimeter now, but maybe it became corrupted and I can re-0instal a fresh version. I'll try and report back. Thanks, mate. Thank You!! February 12, 200521 yr This is what I replaced it with:727KM_ALTIMETER, 446,504,94If you don't have that particular gauge, it is available as part of Ken Mitchell's 727 panel package, which I believe is available here.Doug
February 12, 200521 yr Use a less realistic panel. If you were in a real 737-200 cockpit it's what you'd hear and seeing as the point is to capture the feel of the cockpit, it's there...yeesh.Done!
February 12, 200521 yr Doug:I have the KM 727 panel installed already. That;s super. Thanks again!JS Jonathan Sacks Dell XPS Gen 4, Pentium IV Northwood extreme 3.8Ghz, 3Ghz RAM, eVGA 7900 GTO, 12 GoFlight modules plus MCP-PRO AP and EFIS, GF pedestal, CH rudder pedals, CH throttle quadrant, 42" LG LED, 24" DELL LCD, Windows XP, FS2004, FSUIPC 3.96 FS Autostart 1.1 (Build 11), FS Navigator 4.6, UT, FE, GE, REX, PMDG, Level-D, PSS, etc.
February 12, 200521 yr Author I had this noise problem with the 737-200 panel and isolated it to this file: rp732_400hz.wavDelete or rename that file and the incessant "buzz" is gone! Paul
February 12, 200521 yr Paul:Just scanned my GAUGES file and that isn't even in there (!)Guess it'll be KM's 727 altimeter replacement for me.Thanks for posting.JS Jonathan Sacks Dell XPS Gen 4, Pentium IV Northwood extreme 3.8Ghz, 3Ghz RAM, eVGA 7900 GTO, 12 GoFlight modules plus MCP-PRO AP and EFIS, GF pedestal, CH rudder pedals, CH throttle quadrant, 42" LG LED, 24" DELL LCD, Windows XP, FS2004, FSUIPC 3.96 FS Autostart 1.1 (Build 11), FS Navigator 4.6, UT, FE, GE, REX, PMDG, Level-D, PSS, etc.
February 13, 200521 yr Doug:It worked. Great. Normal panel, normal sounds, and a nice new altimeter. How on EARTH did you discover THIS ? What kinds of minds work on FS....?Thanks again.JS Jonathan Sacks Dell XPS Gen 4, Pentium IV Northwood extreme 3.8Ghz, 3Ghz RAM, eVGA 7900 GTO, 12 GoFlight modules plus MCP-PRO AP and EFIS, GF pedestal, CH rudder pedals, CH throttle quadrant, 42" LG LED, 24" DELL LCD, Windows XP, FS2004, FSUIPC 3.96 FS Autostart 1.1 (Build 11), FS Navigator 4.6, UT, FE, GE, REX, PMDG, Level-D, PSS, etc.
February 13, 200521 yr Author >Paul:>>Just scanned my GAUGES file and that isn't even in there (!)>>Guess it'll be KM's 727 altimeter replacement for me.>>Thanks for posting.>>JS I found that sound file, along with many others, in the panel folder. The panel is from Richard Probst, tinmouse.org I do recall hearing that agrivating noise some time back, also with a 737 as I recall. At that time I didn't go searching for the source...I just discontinued flying that bird. I believe I have some KM panels amongst my several hundred. I'll go digging around to see if I can track the other noisy one down. Paul
