26APR14 - SP1/300ER Update "What Could Possibly Take So Long?!"

I assume I can do this just by backing up the .hours file and copy/pasting right?

Yes.

I think there's supposed to be an additional feature that's coming out that might affect this, so before you update, back up your hours files, .INIs and so on.  I'm sure they'll re-state that when they post something about it, though.

I'm sure that's going to be one of those "Gather around kiddies, I have a story to tell you" moments. I can only imagine what has been going on behind the scenes!

You probably wouldn't believe that certain events transpired regarding this even if we could tell you right now...

No one has mentioned the SDK but those of us awaiting FS2Crew for the T7 are hoping for a release soon. Will it be out at the same time as SP1?

Iain Smith

Yes, the SDK will be present with SP1.

And the work goes on................

Would you rather have them stop working, then?

Hopefully the 747 V2 has progressed nicely in the background :P  As much as i love flying the 777 (and i will for sure purchase the 773ER) , but there is only one Queen of the skies, and thats the 747. I cant wait to see her represented in flightsim in the same quality like the NGX and the 777.

Alexander Marx

The PMDG has, in my opinion, the best products for Flight Simulator.

This can only be achieved with quality, and quality can only be achieved with time and dedication.

I await the promised update and anxious for information about the future products (B747 v2).

Keep on track

Out of interest, how will SP1 be rolled out? Will we have to update through the Ops Center, or will it be through a traditional download? I'm quite excited to see how far you expand the Ops Center!

Pretty sure this kind of stuff is exactly what the Ops Center was designed for ;-)

The Ops Center is a perfect example of flawless copy protection. When I installed it, I wondered how come I couldn't install liveries - I had to activate first. It took 10 seconds and everything was perfect. The option to revoke the license ourselves if needed is great. Plus, the livery options are so easy to change in the Ops center.

It just proves to many others that unobtrusive copy protection is possible.

Agreed: I liked the addon menu solution (B744/MD11) more than the options in the FMC (NGX; you really get lost in those numerous FMC pages/subpages).

But the OC is the best solution ever.   B)

Honestly i prefer it in the FMC to the old menu. Using the menus in FSX is a pain at the best of time.

This is in no way an official statement, and may be wrong:

I'm relatively sure the SP will be in download form (more specifically, a download not managed by the Ops Center).  This will update the Ops Center to the necessary version to do the update pushes in the future.

I think that's how it will work this time around.  As I said, I could be wrong.

Good to read this. The dev that created the FMC for the NGX on Android Tablets is waiting on this for 777 FMC.
