26APR14 - SP1/300ER Update "What Could Possibly Take So Long?!"

Featured Replies

In my case I have spent 10 of the past 30 days in a damned hospital bed being fed through an IV line.  Meanwhile I resolved a half dozen open issues that were my responsibility in the 777, I built 3 beta SP1 versions, 3 internal alpha 300ER versions, answered 309 email, spent :20-30 per day helping our tech support team and answered as many posts and items here in the forum as I could between doses of narcotic pain meds and nausea inducing antibiotics.

Le ouch. Hope you've made a full recovery by now, and if that hasn't happened, I hope you recover soon.

Oh wait...It is not even released yet! But the B777X base package is released with the bugs? That is because we have to pay for it!

Have you got anything else but  to complain  about  the release of the sp1, its getting quite boring.    But  at least your keeping  kyle  amused   and  can you put up a link  on where it  says you have  to buy the t7,  no where it  states on the pmdg  site you have  to pay for it

Hope you feel better Robert! You deserve a medal for doing all of that while you are that unwell and hospitalised.

Kind regards,

I actually agree with this. As much as I love PMDG they seem to hold back much requested products and updates in search of perfection. That sets them up for backlash when the service pack or initial product launch isn't as perfect as they'd been making out when it's been delayed for six months or longer.

We saw this with the base pack 777 where release was held back for six months or so to "perfect" the product, which is imperfect (very enjoyable and i'm loving using it, but it's not perfect as we're having to have a service pack).

Yes, despite attempting to eliminate all bugs, SP1 is bound to need patching. But it's far better to at least "attempt" to eliminate all bugs now, so that the bugs that are uncovered After SP1 are minimal.

That's far better than releasing a SP1 with a plethora of irritating bugs still to be fixed.

If PMDG released a service pack, with many bugs still present, there would be a truckload of complaints.

Quick turnaround for SP1 and loads of bugs present.

Or be patient and just a few minor bugs.

Robert,

Can you please delay the SP1 even after it is finished for another 6 months.

I don't know I just like to see the world BURN !!

PS: Get well soon !

Oh my, that is some serious dedication if you ask me, Rob.

Please take care of yourself first before assisting others!

Wish for a steady recovery.

I know there's a lot of money in aviation because I put it there.

Robert, I hope you and the other team members get better quickly.  Take care of yourselves first -- as far as SP1, no rush at all.
