I know this is old stuff by now, but when I clicked on Fs9 tonight to open it up, it went all the way through to the default flight at KSEA. Normally, it opens me up at Create A Flight screen.How do I modify the Settings so that it opens up the way I want when I boot up FS9?Thanks!JS

I think it opens up at whatever menu screen you quit from. Haven't verified this but usually when I use "Create A Flight" to start a flight and then exit that flight, the next time I open Fs9 I get the Create A Flight screen. Ditto the "Select A Flight" screen. There's a mod for the .cfg file that lets the sim open with whatever default flight you set up but that can cause problems. If you save a bad flight the sim will just start to load then CTD. Although if that happens you can just change the .cfg back to get the spash screen again and choose another flight.First make a backup of the .CFG file. Now open the Fs9.CFG file in Notepad and look for this line:SHOW_OPENING_SCREEN=1Change the 1 to a 0 and the sim will open to whatever flight you set as default.

As MattNW (No signature-read the rules of topic use Matt) say's you can alter it from the FS9.cfgBut.......................If you don't want to do that, just click on start, program files/microsoft games/FS9 and select 'restore defaults'. That will change the settings for you.As a footnote to this, I use 'FS Addon Manager' which is a program that enables you to test fly any aircraft and changes the execution of FS9 to enable you to do, just this.Now, if you don't, when you have finished testing allow the Addon Manager screen to return after closing FS9 or, you close the 'addon manager' before you close FS9, it changes the FS.cfg to recognize how you shut the program.Consequently, next time you open FS9 it goes straight to where it left off before believing it to be the default setting.
