Hi Chris,

I picked this up today. Just installed and did one quick run with the default installed settings (Base + 0 + 3). Tough on the frames (no surprise) but it looks quite excellent for my flight around the SF Bay Area!

A couple of questions for you:

1) The level 0 wasn't part of the LA prototype I tried. The manual suggests I use this when overlaying NEX onto photoscenery, but not if I'm overlaying default FSX/Orbx textures. Can you enlighten me on just what the level 0 is and does, and why I should use it over photoscenery?

2) The installer seemed to pretty much insist I install into my FSX folder (it gave me the option to browse elsewhere, but when i actually tried to install into my photoscenery folder on a separate drive, it balked, so i let it install into FSX). But this is an acceptable permanent location for me (my FSX folder is on an SSD with limited space). Can I manually relocate this scenery to another drive (after deleting it's reference from FSX Scenery library of course, then reselecting from it's new location)?

Cheers!

Skip the questions Chris. I tinkered around and found out everything I needed to know.

Thank you Odourboy
I’m glad you were able to find the answers to your questions
i will still answer for our fellow simmers who may have similar question in mind

you are correct; Level 0 was not part of the beta testing

as for using Level 0 textures; it is not mandatory
by splitting the levels this way; you are able to further customize your view
you can use NE night textures at any given situation and with any other scenery combination
you can use the default look fsx offers; or maybe you prefer the photoreal scenery night textures
this is part of NE modularity design

Level 0 can also be activated by itself; without the 3D light portion (base+1/2/3)
This will still give you a properly colored road network at night; with basically no FPS loss (3D l lights off)

I don’t do the installer myself; its all AS
Im sure it’s a simple switch they can add to allow you to brows for your location
Either way; you should be able to move the whole folder to where you want it to be
You’re not restricted in any way as far as the folder location goes

yep, with vector and global actually you get even better results with NE

simply because we use real world data to place our lights

fsx doesn’t have all this current information in its DB

with vector and global this data is available

and NE lighting becomes even better

since all light now appear on roads

with fsx only, some lights don’t have road under them

be advised at this point in time, we are compatible with P3D up to and including v2

from v2.1 and up there's something preventing NE to run as intended

we are waiting for the fix from LM
