Carenado Piper Seneca V

OK, here we go...

 

Carenado has some VERY preliminary shots up of their latest announcement, a Piper Seneca V.  As a hardcore GA guy who's main love is piston twins, this is a plane I've been hoping they'd do, but all I can say is this:

 

Please, please PLEASE Carenado!  Do an earlier analog gauge version with RXP support as you did with the Mirage.  Or even a G600 similar to what you did with the G500 JetProp with RXP integration to give good functionality.  But please, I'm begging you, whatever you do... Not another neutered G1000 release.  Please.

 

No really, please.

I agree with you but we're fighting against those on Facebook that want the "2014" cockpit. Maybe they'll do like they did with the 206 and have both

I'm confused by this.... they already have the older Seneca - so I'm guessing this will be a G1000 version..... as I think all new Seneca's V come with G1000 now

Just curious.  What do you hope that this airplane brings that the Duke doesn't.  I don't know didly about the Seneca.  (Oh, and Carenado?  If you're listening?  Please, pleasepleaseplease, finish it and give it a descent FDE?  Thank you.)

The V actually started its life with analog gauges as the standard avionics package.  Then G600s and now the G1000.  In the real world, I'd want the latest.  In the sim - analog or G600s with Garmins and RXP integration - unless Carenado could finally do a relatively complete G1000 which I do NOT expect will happen.

 

There are many other differences between the older versions and the V besides avionics, mostly centered around a refined panel and engine changes.  Many of the changes revolve around the variants of the TSIO-360 engines used since the II (an engine I have much experience with as an owner operator) involving changes in cowlings, wastegates, intercoolers, HP increases and so-on.  The V is by far the most refined of the Seneca line.

 

 

 

What do you hope that this airplane brings that the Duke doesn't.

 

Apples and bananas.  The Duke is a cabin-class, pressurized, high-horsepower twin.  The Seneca is a more modest, lighter, unpressurized, lower HP, but still turbo-charged twin.

 

It's the difference between a plane I actually hoped I'd one day own/fly, and one that I know would always be a dream.
