Problem ive been pretty much ignoring for the past few months

Hey guys i have been experiencing a problem with a Specific Airport LSZS heres the issue

 

1.All seasons work fine for LSZS accept  Spring, 

 

a. Summer Works (Day and Night)

b. Fall works (Day and Night)

c.  Winter Works (Day and Night)

d Spring does not work always crashing in with  a Stack Hash CTD.

 

I'm pretty meticulous when it comes to my Simulator this is what confuses me. From various test i realized that the crash only occurs in LSZS or when im nearing this airport during the Spring season. Spring works perfectly fine for all other surrounding airports in this area payware and Default. 

 

I do have payware Airports in the Area Small Switzerland Airfields 3-5-6 But as i mention they all work fine in spring season Accept LSZS 

 

I've decided to do further test by disabling the Airport and just try laoding up the default LSZS only to encounter the same problem. So pretty much the Default Airport and the Payware Airport LSZS is crashing during the Spring Season.

 

The only other thing i have installed is Switzerland Pro for the entire Switzerland Area wich is prety much Photo Scenery. 

 

Considering that Swiss Pro works fine for all Airports in the area in Spring time accept LSZS and the default and payware LSZS works fine for Summer,Fall,and Winter confuses me even more. Any Ideas?

 

My guess its a corrupt Spring Texture in the LSZS area but i haven't a clue how to pin point this texture I know its in the Scenery World Texture folder but to find this is like searching for a needle in a haystack.

Give filemon a try  http://filemon.en.softonic.com/   It should tell you what file is being accessed at the time of the crash.

 

No guarantee but worth a try until someone more knowledgeable chimes in.

Seems like this program isnt compatible with Windows 7 From my understanding its been replaced with sysinternals Process Monitor (I have this also so i will give that a try)

 

UPDATE 

 

Yes indeed process manager has a feature that includes viewing the files access im monitoring it now thaks for the info this is pretty cool 

 

If indeed i find the file name i will post back

Well im guessing the Entries with the following {NAME NOT FOUND}  in this log file would be the Missing Spring textures since the issue does only occur in Spring time.

Ok after further Analyzing this it seems like there are a few entries pointing to FS9\Addon Scenery\CHPRO\CHPRO9_SE Wich i believe its Switzerland Pro and also noticed there are No Spring textures in there If im not mistaken the Season is identified by the Alphas followed by the location number [011223230112300] [sp] Im guessing SP means Spring. But yet all other airports load fine in Spring.

Also i noticed this entry FS9\TEXTURE.CAB (Not a clue what that is but the sim works flawlessly everywhere else Just Spring on LSZS

Heres another Texture.cab that points to the Scenery World Texture \FS9\Scenery\World\TEXTURE.CAB wich also wasnt found??

Aside from the above Entries it looks like all other entries are pointing to Spring
Example heres one Textures FS9\Scenery\World\Texture\011223230112123Sp.bmp

Not sure if these are default or if there part of the Switzerland Pro package but as i said the only area effected is LSZS in Spring everywhere else in this are works fine during the Spring season.

More testing  :P

 

After going through the list above i have noticed a pattern and have come to this conclusion Seems like the sim first looks for a Texture.CAB then searches for the Spring textures in more then one texture Directory wich explains the duplicate Spring texture Entries above and below (I have picked them out one by one from the list above.)

 

Please someone shine some light on this matter and let me know if im on the right track

 

My next move to narrow down the missing textures is to Pick from the list below only the entries that points to Scenery/World/Texture and ignore all other entries

Finally the issue has been resolved, Someone in another post had given me the best idea yet to resolve the issue. I simply Nicked out the missing textures from the List above then did a search for the Summer Textures on the Hard Drive matching the same values and changed [sU] to [sP] and Eureka. 

 

 

 

Ended up being the Swiss Pro Photo Textures they did not include Spring Textures

Awesome. Thought though if you had've posted this in the screenshot section you would've had this resolved honks ago. That's where we all hang out now. :D

 

Speaking of screenshots, yours over at flightsim are simply sensational. You need to post them here...in the screenshot section of course. :P
