Default Kclt airport not in the right spot

Recommended Posts

I have tried everything I could but for some reason I cannot get the airport in the right place. This is the default airport but as you can see that the runway is no where near where the plane should be landing. i can also see that in the patch of grassy area that the plane is landing on has some airport and runway signs on the ground like the airport was picked up and moved to the right. If anyone can help me with this problem I would greatly appreciate it.
The add ons that I have are
PMDG 737-800 ngx
FTX central
ActiveSky next
REX4
voxatc
everything is running the correct navdata

I think there are numerous airports in FSX that are not in the correct geographical locations and some do have ILS glide slopes aimed well askew of the runway.  You might want to download Airport Design Editor and use it to examine the default KCLT and see if the ILS heading and the runway heading match.  If they don't, then adjust the ILS heading and compile the airport.  Make a backup copy of the default before you do anything!

I looked at the FSX default KCLT and the ILS for both 18R/36L and 18L/36R are lined up correctly and have the correct headings for the runways.

If you are landing on 36L what happens if you try 36R?  Same thing for 18R and 18L.

Does this only do this at KCLT?

Do you have any other KCLT installed?  Do a search of your main FSX folder for KCLT and make sure that the only one you have installed is the FSX default.

In FSX  the default KCLT has 2 parallel runways,36L and 36R.

The airport is on the right place, but it has now 3 parallel runways,36L,36 and 36R.

I think you use a program with the navdata for the "new KCLT" with 3 runways.

And if there no third runway you can use ADE for making a third runway.

I just tried Atlanta-Hartsfield to KCLT and got 36Left ILS freq. 111.700 and hit the runway

dead center. I haven't done any upgrades to that airport.

Ray Smith's new KCLT AFCAD is very nice, as usual for Ray's sceneries.

It is the same thing as with other airport problems brought up over the past few months! To the OP: did you add a vector based program lately, that also messes around with wayyyyyyyyy too many airport elevation issues? I'll bet you did! So go ask the vendor of that product why the $*(!# they are messing with so many airport's elevations? The airport is there, it's just been hidden by the global monster. Maybe the vendor should change the name to Godzilla? It seems to destroy things without regards to right or wrong!

the only thing i can think of is ftx global

Great call Jan!

I just thought of that too.

Here is a link to the current KCLT and you can see the third runway.

http://www.airnav.com/airport/KCLT

You can download and install an updated KCLT from Ray Smith in the AVSIM library that has the third runway.

I have added this and still have the same problems. when i get runway 36L the frequency is 110.05 are you getting something else?

If you have install the KCLT from Ray on the right place Addon Scenery\Scenery then it must going fine.

There is NO frequency 110.05 in this AFCAD.

The frequency's are  36L  108.35 - 36  111.70  -  36R  108.90

Using ADE and looking at Ray's KCLT bgl 36L has the wrong ILS freq.  Per Airnav

http://www.airnav.com/airport/KCLT

http://155.178.201.160/d-tpp/1405/00078IL36L.PDF

the ILS freq for 36L should be 110.15 with IXUU as the identifier.

A: If the PMDG NGX is showing the freq as 110.05 then the AIRAC data you have loaded is wrong.  What cycle of Navigraph AIRAC do you have loaded?  Maybe above you meant 110.15 and not 110.05.  If the AIRAC cycle you have actually has 36L as 110.05 you should be able to manually tune the FMS to 110.15, I have the PMDG MD11 and if the MD11 does not automatically tune to the correct freq you can manually tune to the correct freq with the FMS.

B: To get the correct ILS freq on 36L you can use ADE (freeware) and open Ray's bgl, correct the freq and identifier, save the airport and compile a bgl and then replace Ray's bgl with your new bgl.  If you do this make sure you delete Ray's KCLT bgl that you used, but you can keep his CVX and OBJ bgl's if you do not get these when you compile the airport.  If you get either one of these use yours and delete Ray's.

http://www.scruffyduck.org/airport-design-editor/4584106799

C: Another option to get the correct ILS freq on 36L is to delete all of Ray's bgl's you installed and install a KCLT from Allen Laughmiller.  Make sure you delete all or Ray's bgl's that you installed.

Sorry for pointing you to Ray's KCLT, usually his airports do not have mistakes like this!

I was incorrect when I said the ils was 110.05 I should have put 110.15. But as you can see in the video at the very first post that I made I have 110.15 set and it is following the glides cope but is landing to the left of the runway. If you have not seen the video just take a look at it and see if you could see what the problem might be and what the correction should be. Thank you in advance. By the way I have the most current airac cycle for fsx, pmdg, Voxatc, pxpe.

Thank You
