May 25, 201412 yr It's also been DX10 compatible for me, and as has been mentioned by others, P3D compatible as well. Really, it's a dang good airport now. In my brief experience, I learned the process for development is mind-bending and insanely time intensive. One minute you are trying to learn 3d modeling and next minute become an expert in geological survey. A small project for me became Pandora's box and it will take months to close. I honestly don't know how guys like Shez do it, and do it for free. That's true passion and generosity. When a freeware developer takes on an airport, that might be akin to building a kit car or some other kind of major project. It's an intense undertaking. Anyhow... I'm climbing the walls here waiting for KLGB. No rush, or complaints. Just sayin'. Ethan Edelson

May 25, 201412 yr Shez, Thanks for all the wonderful sceneries you have brought to the flight sim community. Your efforts are very much appreciated. Any clue when this might be available for FS9? Really looking forward to the release of KDTW. Thanks again. Regards, Joe Esposito
May 25, 201412 yr Although I have used some of Shez's scenery addons in FS9, this is the first one I have used in FSX and I can only describe it as amazing freeware, equivalent in quality to and even better than some payware - for that thank you Shez! Unfortunately however I do have an issue with KLGB which has sadly caused me to have to uninstall it and I just wondered if I am unique with this problem and if there is any way to get around it? Just flying using the default Baron I find that the VAS usage of this scenery is very high and I am getting an OOM within about two minutes of take off. I should point out that I use FTX Global and also Aerosoft Los Angeles as well as FSDT KLAX and have pretty well most sliders maxed out, but I have done a lot of flying around this area previously using this configuration in both default and addon aircraft such as the Majestic Q400 without any OOM problems. When I uninstalled Shez's KLGB, I was once again able to fly from KLGB to FSDT KLAX and onwards to KVNY without any major VAS hit and without an OOM. I should point out that this should not be taken as a criticism of this amazing freeware and it may well be that the problem relates to my own setup. As I have said, Shez's version of KLGB is excellent and I would really like to be able to use it, so any advice would be gratefully appreciated thanks! Bill
May 25, 201412 yr Thanks Shez for all the time and effort you continue to put into FSX and FS9 to help us keep flight simulation so enjoyable. Great work on KLGB. Bill Do you have another KLGB afcad installed that you didn't remove first? I just installed and I am getting very low framerates, this scenery is heavier on frames than FSDT KLAX! Shez, how can we remove the static airplanes? I see C17 US library.bgl but where are the static ga aircraft? I'd like to remove them. Thanks
May 25, 201412 yr This is one of the most amazing airports I've seen for Southern CA. It rivals or even beats payware airports, fitting in with the likes of FSDT KLAX. Ground textures are incredibly crisp, there's tons of details in the modelling, and the photoreal background is beautiful. This is a gem of a KLGB. The only downside is that I have a marked loss of performance at the airport and quite a bit of texture flickering. Could be a problem with my system or installation though, so I will run through some settings today. Thanks for all your hard work Shez, you've made Southern California one of the best places to fly for me. Ethan Edelson
May 25, 201412 yr It is a great looking airport but a slideshow, the worst fps in any airport I own payware or freeware. Also a shadow follows me and you can see from this screenshot the different color asphalt and that shadow stays at that distance everywhere I taxi. Plus only 10fps, unflyable
May 25, 201412 yr I too have experience abnormally low performance even with default aircraft. Mitchell Haughee
May 25, 201412 yr Unfortunately I have low frames with default aircraft and normal settings. I really didn't expect them to be that low (8 to 10) even though I do have an old computer. My frames on KPHL are acceptable with better than normal settings and pay ware aircraft. It does appear to work ok with DX10. Will see if I can do a little more tweaking to try to enhance the fps..
