Crash To Desktop - G3D.DLL, pilote carte graphique en cause?

Recommended Posts

Pour info : PC GAMER Falcon Titanium Windows 7 - 64bit / 3,40 GH 4 coeurs / NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Ti 2048 Mo /  8 Go mémoire

Hey Lubond,

my suggestion is: try installing the latest version of FSUIPC, it often helps with the G3D.DLL problem, not always though. I take it you have not tweaked the FSX cfg. file, and maybe Venetubo won't help either. I believe the Venetubo website has been down for quite sometime. If you have the original CD that came with your video card, try installing the driver from the card, and see how that goes. Unfortunately G3D.DLL errors do not come in one variety only, and it is very hard to give a solution known to work for everyone.

One other thing is to do a repair install, that is: either insert the Acceleration DVD and do a repair, or look for the sp2.exe, click on it, and choose "repair". This will reinstall the updated g3dll file.

Try it, and see if that helps.

NB.

Next time, please, try writing in English, as many more members will be able to understand you and come to rescue...

First, thank's for your fast reply Enrico !

I have a poor english but if you understand me, let's go !

Concerning FSUIPC, i've already donwload the recent version from the avsim topic "G3D.DLL error".

I don't have the original CD that came with my video card. So, i'll try to "repair" Acceleration CD. I bought the FSX Gold edition, no need to download sp2 ???

Thank's a lot and i'll keep you informed...

Cordially

If you have the Acceleration, then no need to update the sp2, just use the Acceleration DVD and try a repair. As for the video driver, as a general rule with any driver, it is always best to install the first driver from the DVD, and do an upgrade from there. Since you do not have it, just do a clean install from the NVidia support site. do not install any add on, or tweak the FSX. cfg file, until the issue has been resolved.

^_^Hello Enrico !

I've done Acceleration DVD reparation, new FSX.cfg file without any tweaks and no add ons...

Short flight with FSX ok but CTD when i quited FSX

So i took a look on NVIDIA website and actually i try to target the original driver for my NVIDIA GeForce 660 Ti...

Each driver update has his own date, i bought my pc in february 2013 and the GeForce 314.07 driver dates from 18.2.2013, maybe  this one !?

I also proceeded an AppCrashView analyse after my last crash to desktop, but i don't succeed pasting it here

Thank's for your precious advices !

Hi Loic,

look at the Event Viewer in Windows. To do that, click on Start, and in the empty field above it type: Event Viewer. The viewer will open up, and on the upper left side you'll se a few items. If you click on one of them, I think it  is the third one, it will show you any admin event, look for anything that says App Crash in the field that opens up, that should tell you what application crashed. Try that,

Enrico

Hi Loic,

It does not seem as the G3D.DLL shows up as the faulty module...Take a look at the AVSIM CTD guide, and do as it says,

http://forum.avsim.net/files/file/65-avsim-crash-to-desktop-guide-for-fsx-p3d-fs9/

It is weird you are having CTD with no add ons, no FSX.cfg tweaks, and default airplanes. Read that guide, and during your tests, lower all settings in FSX, set AI traffic to "0", of course no DX10 and no AA, just set trilinear in the FSX settings,

hi Enrico !

i'll have a look on the AVSIM CTD guide.

Except the AI traffic, i've already disable DX10 and AA. Trilinear is ok.

In any case, Windows event viewer mentions each time a "G3D.dll error"....

See you later and thank's for your daily help Enrico !

In the AVSIM CTD Guide, there is a procedure to find missing textures/objects by modifying your FSX.cfg. This is how we were able to discover the g3d.dll errors that were fixed by the developer of the fsuipc.dll. After running this program, see if you are still getting the errors. It should simply be stopping your sim, telling you a texture or object is missing and you click okay and you should be able to continue on with your flight. Details are on Page 1 of the AVSIM CTD Guide located to the right of this forum under Hot Spots.

Okay. Meant to say the info on the Missing Textures/Objects is on page 3 of the AVSIM Guide, not on 1. Sorry!
