LH A380 Lands with 3T of fuel

Not your average day in the office    Note that on the last approach they had a windshear alert at 2NM!  Another missed approach and we would be dealing with the first fatal A380 crash...

Looks like they made a tough decision - and after that decision it got even tougher.

 

Not sure South Florida is the weather place to run fuel down to minimum reserve requirements ...   :mellow:

Will be interesting reading the full report.  Windshear alert means TOGA and Go-Around! Of course not wise in this situation.  Performance decreasing  Windshear  of 15kts!  No way was that approach stable even with Vref additives

Yeah, but imagine going Missed, only to run out of fuel! Not a good situation either. That's why Pilots deserve good salaries! Man... This is a tough job
