Some questions before purchase

Recommended Posts

I am thinking of buying the Q400 but I have a few questions which I hope somebody could answer.

I have read that it had a bug that can disconnect from the ILS glideslope and LOC on landing. Has this been fixed yet?

I have also read that, due to the fact the aircraft runs outside of FSX and is basically being slewed, GSX and AES don't play too well. Have these both been sorted?

Is the inbuilt pushback the same as the NGX where you set pushback distance and hope to get the taxiway and not the grass?

I have ASN so does the weather radar read the actual weather being produces or does it estimate the weather. I know a lot of aircraft addons don't have a weather radar because it does not read the weather properly.

Thanks in advance for any help.

  1. No ILS or APP issues for some time now ^_^

  2. As regards GSX and ASX I cannot comment as I do not use them

  3. The inbuilt pushback is fine, you don't set distances and turning points in advance, you tell it when you want to turn and when you want to stop and it does it almost instantly.

  4. The weather radar works with all weather engines and reads the weather stations directly from FSX (i.e. doesn't interface with ASX) so I'd say it's just an estimate, not a highly accurate radar depiction.

Overall it's one of the best FSX aircraft addons, well thoughtout with some truly revolutionary features and great support; I highly recommend it. It makes a nice change from the highly automated big jets as it's a lot more challenging, rewarding and fun.
