Ocean's Seven. Not a prequel, a Montréal to Lyon 7hours-flight

Hi all

 

Usually long hauls are not my cup of tea, but I did fly it in real life 2 years ago, and my brother, who will visit us in a few weeks, will take this flight. So I decided to practice NATs

 

This is Flight #TS392 operated by Air Transat, from Montreal CYUL to Lyon LFLL. And a good old A310 with one VHS cassette and a few screens as onboard entertainment system.

Leaving the gate a few minutes late, at 6:22pm (expected 6:15)

 

Taxiing to RW 24R

 

 

TO at 6:28, keeping 238° and following ATC vectors to NAPEE

 

 

Somewhere above Atlantic, nice atmosphere during dawn

 

Then sunset while approaching French coasts around 5:30am (local time)

 

Over Lyon, nice weather...

 

... and French alps in the background (spectacular fog rendering, thanks to P3D)

 

Final left turn at the end of TIS STAR, to align on RW 36L

 

Wheels on the ground at 7:40 after a nice and smooth manual approach

 

And finally at the gate, it is 07:46, only 15mn late (expected 07:30) with some traffic around

Nice. I sometimes see the old Transat A310s coming into Gatwick, and occasionally the Azores Glider as well

Ah, you are referring to the A330 "Noise Abatement" Edition ?  :ph34r:

 

About the A310s

 

From / to Lyon, Air Transat operates both A330 and A310. Each time (4x) I had to fly to Montreal, I had A310s... Tiny cabin, poor / no entertainment system...  :wacko:

 

These aircrafts are 30 years old, and it is starting to show up.

This really is a great app, I only miss the real route that could be drawn while you fly, but it could be included with the pro version - I did not investigate.
