FS performance/time Deterioration

Recommended Posts

Guest Elvi5

Hey Guys,Hope you are all enjoying your new 767s :)I have a question thats baffled me since fs2004 was released. Why does the performance/fps get so low over long flights.I just flew my shinny new 767 from Florida to Boston. She was down to 8fps over Boston's threshold, at least half the fps at the departure point.I'm don't want to complain, MS have a fine product & no one can do any better. But, I just wondered if someone REALLY knows what is causing these harsh performance drops.Small runs in flight1 cessna 172 for example, are always liquid smooth.I have a reasonable system & most my sliders are mid set.P4 3Ghz2 Gig ramNv 5950 FXCheers, george

I'm sure you will get more and better replies but it sounds like an age old problem having to do with "memory leak." Do a search for that topic and you will get a lot of hits.I've never had the problem because I don't have time to fly for extended periods so I can't help you personally.Good luck.Jim

I think its more to do with microsoft and the code they wroste for fs2004. I think they have it to where it come how reads our feeling through out joystick, and if we dislike the aircraft, frames go up. If we seems to like it, brames will go down steeply.. or we can just say they jumped off the cliff...This started to day, but any 2D panel for any plane, i cant get our of single digits... any idea's?
