So in other words it has to be LM someway somehow.

LM is as close to all of this as most of us are, a million miles away.

They found out they have quite a potential market with P3D and because they cannot sell to the masses because of the agreement they decided to buy the rest, including MS Flight.

If it's Lockheed I'll eat my hat.

Lockheed have their fingers in lots of very big and very expensive pies. Video games isn't one of them.

I'd bet Lockheed have made more money selling F-22 5th gen stealth cable ties to the USAF than they have selling P3D licenses to our segment of the market.

It would be simpler to re-negotiate the Microsofl/Lockheed Martin licence to remove  the clause "...only for purposes other than personal/consumer entertainment" - if  Lockheed Martin really wanted to "...sell to the masses"

Why the hell would LM care about the gaming market?

The masses have bought P3D from LM, but LM hasn't sold P3D to the masses?   :P

What happened to AVSIM

In the future Lockheed Martin may choose not to sell P3D to the masses. But that could be another story.

That has been my concern all along, that what is happening right now is that we are just helping with the development costs of a program not really meant for us in the long term.

a program not really meant for us in the long term

If you fly for entertainment, the program wasn't meant for you at all!

I don't think Tom is going to like this new direction the thread is taking lol. But many of us have made that point before. However it is clear that there has been a lot of "wink wink, nudge nudge" from the beginning. I don't think they would have included a Constellation in the aircraft mix otherwise.

Kill the competition .....

My money is on ..... Austin Meyer

and he's going to name it ....... FS X Plane  :P

The eye of Sauron looks in this direction........

We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.

Austin Meyer is a Mac guy and hates MS and Windows. And he developed his X-plane. I don't think he has anything to do with it. The hints from Tom point to a much bigger company with deep pockets.
