Annoying lines...

When at high altitudes on my system along with different systems I've used over the past few years I have noticed unsmooth transitions betweem sky layers (for lack of a better word). I realize not everyone has these and I was wondering how one might fix this? What FS2004 settings should I use?My Computer:Athlon 2500XP+Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe1GB Samsung PC3200MSI NX6600GT 128MBAttached is a screenshot to show you what I mean. Thanks in advance.

I should probably add that the lines show up below the aircraft, when I look straight out the window its fine.

Usually has to do with 16bit colour depth - use 32bit in fs hardware display settings.If you already are then maybe a driver update?regards,Mark3.2HT/1GIG/X700pro256

It's already at 32.... I have the latest drivers, maybe I'll try something slightly older.Thanks for your help.

Whats your settings for sight distance set at?Goto the display options then the weather options panel where you select sight distance, cloud draw distance and 3d cloud percentage etc.It might be that your sight distance is set to 60 miles which is why you are getting that line. Set it to something like 80 miles or 100 miles and see if that makes a difference.Craig

By the screenshot provided, it looks like the aircraft is just above the fog layer/line to me.

I am bumping that thread dated March 2005 because I am facing the exact same problem myself (although Cameron screenie doesnt show up anylonger, so i onyl guess)I found that thread using the search thing with '16bit' because I suspect my gfx card of DirectX 9.0c to be screwed and not dealing 32bit anylonger, although Windows and FS are set to 32bit.The monitor isnt involved of course, nor are the drivers.Cameron, I believe you figured out how to fix it?Did you by the time get somethign like that?http://aiarnaud.free.fr/nochange.jpgmore obvious on that one and same pichttp://aiarnaud.free.fr/odd_ps.jpgIf you Cameron could avoid me to reinstall both my system and FS,that'd be just great.Thanks in advance,
