I'm an ARCADE helicopter pilot :-)

Recommended Posts

With the re-install of xp10.30, which rapidly brought beta 4 for me :), also came the re-install of many add-ons.

Yesterday I re-installed my only payware helicopter, the AS350 B3.

Two things that I had forgotten about it:

1) When landing it, well, crash-landing it, or landing on a slope, the aircraft you load afterwards, even after restarting XP10, have the outside view tilted ???? How to solve this? - Simply reload the AS350 B3 on a flat, straight surface :-)

2) I can't fly this helo unless I set the ARCADE mode On! One of the main problems I have is the extreme sensibility in roll. The cyclic is so sensible that we can easily make a tunneau with it, as if there was practically no inertia or even fuselage drag ( ? ). When the ARCADE mode is chosen, IMO the helicopter flies a lot more plausibly?

So... what can you tell me of the new Bell?

I've heard this about the AS 350, which is the reason that I have not bought it. The Bell is not as bad, so I hear, and I have the 407. I can say that it is controllable, but still lacks inertia in the roll axis. I like the 407, but I've given up on X-Plane because of these roll issues. I prefer to do precision hovering and if you look at the YouTube videos of the Dreamfoil 407, you can see that it is constantly rolling in even the best conditions. I'm back to FSX and the Dodo.

Thx for the precious info Kdub

Yes, DODO was the best option I had in times of fs9. Never bought the FSX version, and now I do not even use MSFS or P3D :-/, but the DODO was very very good indeed!
