FSX trees not where they're supposed to be

Hi.

 

I'm running FSX Gold on a high-end computer.  My only scenery add-ons are ORBX PNW, CRM, and several ORBX airports.

 

I'm now seeing trees where they shouldn't be (in lakes around KHQM).  I moved my plane to Cairo (where all I have is default scenery) and I have many trees placed all over the runway and taxiways.

 

How do I correct this?

I have the Drezweicki Miami X, and on final approach into KMIA there's a clump of trees on the southbound Interstate 95 highway lanes. At first they annoyed me; then I came home one day and noticed a clump of weeds in the driveway of my house. Since then, I just assume that the misplaced trees like what you describe are simply overgrown weeds which became trees. LOL

 

In all seriousness, I'm sure that there are scenery tools that can be used to clear those trees.

I would check your scenery layers and make sure all the Orbx stuff is above the default entries and KHQM is above everything.

Also check that you have FTX central set to north america ,and then see what it looks like.

Eventually, I did a complete FSX re-install.  No more tree in the runway to dodge.

Hey Scott,

If you run FTX Central you'll find that the trees are back.  It has something to do with the FSX "terrain.cfg" file that FTX Central rebuilds when it runs.  I haven't looked into this yet.
