Can anyone help identifying an Airport?

This is probably  a needle in a haystack question.  When I first started FSX a couple of years back ,  I remember flying an Airport that you could only approach and take off  from one direction as the other way there was high mountains, in fact the direction you  take off also had hills , just not so high.  I thought it was Anchorage, something like that, but having looked at the airfields in the sim with this name in Alaska they dont appear familar , it was certainly in either Canada or the USA, I also think a copy of PC pilot may of featured it in the challenging airports section.  I must of stumbled on it by accident  perhaps  as I cant find it in the default missions.

 

What I am really looking for is a nice airport with lots of hills/mountains around to fly Air Hauler for my A2A Cherokee to add a bit more challenge.  At present its stationed in the UK, but our mountains (or large hills) are not  that high.

 

My cessna is at Innsbruck which is great.

 

Any suggestions greatly appreciated or the name of the airport.

Literally after posting I think I have found it!! ,  Aspen  !  Well I was right it began with an "A"  its either C003 or KASE.  Now just sending the AI to take my Cherokee there !

Juneau comes to mind and it can be a challenge, but I think you probably already looked that one up.  There are a great many GA airstrips that can be challenging in the PNW as well as Alaska.  One strip that comes to mind is Tipella, which ORBX released as a freeware airport.  This one is extremely challenging and unbeknownst to me at the time, I flew there thinking it would be a nice jaunt through the Canadian mountains.  Boy, was I mistaken.  When I vectored in for an approach I couldn't find the strip and had to circle around.  Once I got my bearings, I still couldn't get my aircraft at the right speed for decent and wound up crashing into the trees.

Aspen,CO is the one. Rwy 15 is landing only and Rwy 33 is takeoff only. I have seen a few turboprops circle to land on Rwy 33. You'll note the departure procedure demands an immediate right turn before joining the Red Table VOR inbound. That is to make room for simultaneous landing ops in addition to terrain avoidance.

Check out Castlegar, BC. Lots of mountains on all sides, and a bit tricky to get in and out of in a turboprop. Add some wind and lower visibility, and it becomes quite a doozey.

ps, a cool tidbit of info to keep in mind if you try Castlegar; Air Canada used to fly 737-200's outta there, back in the 70's.
