Simconnect.XML file issue

Recommended Posts

I am trying to run ASN and vpilot on a laptop through a network. My operating system is installed on my desktop's C drive and FSX is installed on the D drive. I cannot seem to locate the simconnect.xml file in the C:\Documentsandsettings\Users\appdata\microsoft\fsx folder. Can someone help me with getting this setup.

Thanks

Edit. JJ posted at the same time, if your SC xml is lost, do what I posted below and make sure you save to dir that JJ posted.

Open Notepad, copy what is below replacing xxxx's for your IP adress of your fsx machine. Save as Simconnect.XML

thank you very much for the help. I also realized I am missing the Simconnect.ini file as the Users\Mydocuments\Flightsimulator folder. Do you know where that can be found?

Open Notepad and put :

[simConnect]
level=verbose
console=0
;RedirectStdOutToConsole=1
;OutputDebugString=1
;file=c:\simconnect%03u.log
;file_next_index=0
;file_max_index=9

and save as simconnect.ini

The ini is mainly used for logging.

now i seem to be having an issue with the client. I installed the Simconnect.msi file on my laptop, but cannot find the simconnect.cfg file on users\documents. Is there something wrong i am doing that none of these files are showing up and that i have to create them?
