June 28, 201411 yr I used to love watching the landmark displays as I flew from country yo country. It was a wonderful way of learning about geography as I flew and I just wish the developer would make it work in P3D. It's probably not a great deal of work to get it going and I'd be first in line to buy it again. Anyone else feel the same way? Mario Di Lauro
June 28, 201411 yr Me too. Maybe it's old hat now, but like you, I do miss it and I'd happily go buy it again! Phil Murfin
June 28, 201411 yr XPOI seems to work in P3D, but probably not in P3Dv2. This is according to FSDT's product description; I do not own either one of these three products, so I have never tested it. Just a heads up for you to check for yourselves. http://www.fsdreamteam.com/products_xpoi.html (But I do own FS Discover and FSX! :P) What happened to AVSIM
June 28, 201411 yr Author Thanks Oliver for the suggestion. Unfortunately, it froze my P3D. And even if it worked, where FSDiscover was subtle and pleasantly presented, XPoi is in-your-face, and in my opinion, ugly. Perhaps it is configurable but since I had P3D working perfectly, I didn't want to chance it more than that - especially with the freezing. Oh wee - it was worth a try. Mario Di Lauro
June 28, 201411 yr Commercial Member I use XPOI all the time in P3Dv2.2. Works great. One of my favorite addons. Intel i9-12900KF, Asus Prime Z690-A MB, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, (3) SK hynix M.2 SSD (2TB ea.), 16TB Seagate HDD, Gigabyte GeForce 5080 RTX, Corsair iCUE H70i AIO Liquid Cooler, UHD/Blu-ray Player/Burner (still have lots of CDs, DVDs!) Windows 10, (hold off for now on Win11), EVGA 1300W PSUNetgear 1Gbps modem & router, (3) 27" 1440 wrap-around displaysFull array of Bravo, Saitek and GoFlight hardware for the cockpit. Varjo and HP VR headsets for mixed reality.
June 29, 201411 yr I have even got FSDiscover running in FSX on an old computer. FSX only exists so I can use FSD. I then export the plans into V2.2. Sad isn't it? Enough said ... Mac Cheers, Mac
August 16, 201411 yr Not having FSDiscover! is a real setback for us at Return to Misty Moorings (RTMM). We have a database there with over 800 (hand-installed) datapoints for our coverage area ... this "plus" the database already provided (excellent in USA, non existent for Canada). We do much low and slow flying at "Misty" and have many "guided tours" we call "Trip Tix". If you have FSDiscover, these come alive! They will tell you to go to a certain place and turn a certain direction when you see it. So we use FSDiscover to create guides for people around our area. Once we get this, P3D all one needs for RTMM. We are FSX/DX10/P3D compatible with all of our objects ... we've converted over 6000 objects so they will work in all three platforms (libraries are available at the site). Bottom line, we REALLY MISS FSDiscover! I know the developer is working hard on IS3 (an update for P3D V2.3} ... so he has his hands full. Hopefully he can get FSDiscover up to date for us. We really miss it at RTMM.

October 7, 201411 yr I used FSGeoNavi here in the library with FSX for a while. Wondering if it works with P3D. 10700k / Gigabyte 3060
October 7, 201411 yr I got XPOI today...talk about an overwhelming amount of stuff! Even turning some of the settings down it's a lot. They'd do well to at least allow you to code the arrows...bodies of water blue. Also, some of those filters they have need to be tweaked. If you turn on 'Estates' you'll get Bob's Mobile Estates. If you enable 'Parks' you'll get 'Jenny's Mobile Park'. It's kind of funny. Perhaps, if they'd let you add filters for words like Gulch, Creek, Mobile and other words. Gregg EDIT: Also, filter some things based on distance. Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. A great landing is when you can reuse it." i9 64GB RAM, GTX-5090
October 8, 201411 yr I used FSGeoNavi here in the library with FSX for a while. Wondering if it works with P3D. This works, it has both SimConnect and FSUIPC connections available...now to scour the 'net for a better POI csv. 10700k / Gigabyte 3060
October 8, 201411 yr Author Some time ago I wrote this: http://www.simforums...topic48798.html Well, it's encouraging that you got an answer, at the very list. Maybe if we all use your lead and beg "en masse"? Mario Di Lauro
October 8, 201411 yr I'd say, in terms of XPOI, which I just bought... Not a fan of this product. Flushing it. Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. A great landing is when you can reuse it." i9 64GB RAM, GTX-5090
