From what I can see, to fit the much larger engine, they completely changed the pylon so that the engine actually sits higher.

If you actually measure the height of the engines from the ground, you will see that there is very little difference between the old and the new. Like Jesse has stated, the new engine is mounted higher on the pylon than the old one.

The winglets on them are more like the 737 now, I have even seen that upgrade on older A320's already with the Air New Zealand fleet. It does look better. Engines look cool as well

Haha kinda like the DC-8 when they put the CFM's on them.

It looks kinda ugly with those new engines kinda ruins the lines.

I like those big engines, they make A32- look a lot better in my opinion.

The other thing about that angle not taken into consideration is the engines sit forward of the main landing gear and are therefore much higher off the ground when the nose is raised on that sort of cross wind landing.

Agree. One would be in a world of hurt if that engine struck before the gear or the wing tip as far as that matters!

Looking at the image analysis, it seems there's more room for bank than I thought. That kind of bank would never be used on an airliners I imagine, it would be a combination of skid and slip, so no worries there!
