Something to listen to while flying

Recommended Posts

Guest NetBoyz

This is neat. I made it my desktop for now. Some help decoding what is shown? I couldn't find a key on the site...So obviously white are arrivals, cyan are departures, and green are flyovers. What are the yellow, orange and red flights? And, what are the two numbers in each aircraft designator? Are altitude and speed shown? Thanks -- Dick Bixler

This looks neat but even though I have Windows Media player 10, latest updates, connected to www.actmonitor.com it won't play the audio.Bruceb

Dick--The tag shows flight number on top (DAL 972 is Delta flight 972) or the N number of a GA aircraft. Next line is flight level or altitude with an up or down arrow indicating climb or descent and speed, Next line is route IAD ATL (Dulles to Atlanta). Bottom line is aircraft type and what appears to be a time, but I'm not sure what it means.

Posted that before looking at the site in depth. They have a good FAQ that explains all. The last number is ETZ.

Thanks, Bob. Got it now.And Bruce, the first time I tried to connect the media applet blinked and said "done", wouldn't stream the audio. I downloaded a new copy of MP10 and re-installed and it worked. Thanks again -- Dick Bixler

Thanks for the tip but I've downloaded and installed Windows Media Player 10, all the latest win XP updates and I still get the error message that I'm trying to retrieve audio from ACT monitor through an unlicensed website or I don't have the latest version of Windows Media Player or the latest operating system updates. They then say I should connect to http://www.atcmonitor.com/ (same URL as in the orignal post) but when I do this I get the same error message all over again!!Bruceb
