FSXAssist - New Config Setting

Recommended Posts

Starting in build 1.20 uploaded on July 2nd, a new config setting called "SYSTEM_INDEX" is available for FSXAssist.  The value is the number of seconds to wait before starting the FSXAssist timer.  The default is 60 seconds.

We have found that there is an advantage by waiting before starting the FSXAssist timer during an FSX startup.

The problem is that you don't want to check if a process is running while it is loading.  Since FSX and its addon applications take a while to load, if you check FSX to see if it is running to early you will get a false positive (that FSX has crashed) and close FSX with another restart.  Hence the looping restarts that some have reported.  This new setting should fix this condition.  Also, while the default is 60 seconds a value of 90 may work better on a slower machine.   Simply use NotePad to open the C:\Program Files (x86)\SkyPilot Software\FSXAssist\FSXAssist.exe.config file.

To use the new setting download the latest FSXAssist_Setup and install.
