"Quote" feature not working for me

Recommended Posts

Greetings,

I'm having a few issues in the forum which hopefully are easily correctable. The "quote" button doesn't seem to do anything. IE, when I try quoting a previous post, nothing appears in the reply box. I can still post a reply, but just can't add the quote. Also, when I try pasting something into the reply box (eg: my FSX.cfg file), it doesn't allow me to paste it. Is there an easy solution, perhaps something in my settings that needs to be changed?

Many thanks,

Ron Priever

Unfortunately, if you have the IE 11 browser, you must go into BC Code mode in your response. It does not do this in IE10 or earlier versions. So, if you want to quote a post, you would go to the "Reply to this topic" box and click on the tiny BBC Code box in the upper left corner of the box. Now go up and click on quote. The quote will appear. You can click on the BBC Code box to use the menu in your post, like Icons and Bold, etc., but you should go back to BBC Code mode before you hit the "Post" button. This way it will be in this mode on any future posts.

You must also be in BBC Mode to copy and paste things into your post too, like a link to a website.

AVSIM expects this problem will be fixed in a future update to the IP Board AVSIM uses for displaying this website. It is my understanding that this problem does not occur with the Firefox or Chrome browsers. Just IE11.

As you can see, I now know how to do it. Appreciate your assistance.
