Auto throttle management in turbulence and wind

Recommended Posts

Will the service pack address the problem with the auto throttle managing speed improperly while in turbulence and wind? I have turned down ASN turbulence settings, unchecked enhance turbulence, and the auto throttle still keeps a high thrust setting even when it is close to overspeed and not close to target speed. In level change mode, vnav, or vs.

A bunch of changes were made to turbulence handling in SP1. It is not perfect however and it can't be given how unrealistic the forces the FSX turbulence imparts on the airplane are. Also, this doesn't work perfectly in the real airplane either according to our tech team pilots - by definition a PID type system is going to get into an oscillation if the input to the system is constantly changing. Always remember that you are the pilot - if you don't like what the AT is doing, disconnect it and set the thrust manually.
