FSX Gold. GoldenGate Bridge and RIO's Christ the redeemer disappeared

After working perefectly for a couple of years, the Golden Gate Bridge has disappeared. 

Road traffic continues to run (in the air or so it seems.)

Then I tried the default scenery RIO. Everything is nice, but

the  cannot-be-missed-if-it's-there statue of Christ the Redeemer just is not there.

Then I noticed that, even though quite a bit of scenery was added, if I try

Free Flight and select Add-on Scenery, there's nothing in the list. I need to

fly on default scenery (even though I spent quite a bit of $$$ on scenery add-ons.
