$1700 budget, looking for suggestions

I've been using my i7 950 and GTX 570 for 3 years now but it's time to get a new PC as right now I doesn't fulfill my needs. I have used "PC part picker" and came up with this rig:

4790k and z97. PSU is overkill unless you plan to run SLI.

Unless you have some good reason to want Windows 8 - most of us FSX users are sticking with Windows 7..

I also wanted windows 7 but a friend showed me a software I can use to have windows 8 look very much look like it, with the start button, desktop icons, etc

Already doing that, last time I checked my logbook had 55 hours and cross-country solo flight completed, then... $$$, blablabla!

There is none around here. I would hope my GPU to cost less than $300 though. But the most important thing for FSX seems to be the CPU. I wanted to get a 6 core cpu but it's too expensive right now.

Got W7/bunch of add ons/Smooth FSX/rock solid stable. For me, if it ain't broke don't fix it.

 

If I have to do another clean install, it will be on W7.

Some people said they had better performance when Windows 8 first came out I don't know if that's still the case?

Don't go for Windows 8. The Joystick issue is terrible!!

 

Also, I recommend going with the Asus Maximus one user posted. It's really worth investing your money on the best MB. It's the item that usually gives you problem after three years of usage, when you can't find a replacement for your processor :/ Don't ask me how I know that...

 

That asus is a killer, really worth it!
