Need help deciding on Carenado B200 or CT206 for X-Plane?

I'm about to purchase a new GA plane. But can't decide on which one to get. I really like the CT206H due to the fact that you can use the new and improved GNS 530 from X-Plane 10.30 right out of the box. But I also like the B200 because of the overall complexity of the aircraft. I need help on deciding on which one to get? What would be a better all around GA plane? Is the B200 faster than the CT206H in terms of speed?

Well, the B200 is slightly faster but I wouldn't describe this as the main difference. If you already have the B90 you more or less know the B200 especially if you patched the B90 to use the new GPS. It flies nearly identical.

The CT206 on the other hand feels more like a much smaller plane although it can fly quite fast and climb easily. Its flight behavious is a bit like the Grand Caravan but much more refined.

B200 is at least 2x faster than the Cessna...and is alot heavier and requires a much faster approach speed. Apples & Oranges basically

They are both a treat to fly. Either one will be an asset to your hangar and eventually get the other. I own both. Have to say, I have been having a ball lately flying the 206 and with the fix, in 10.30B7, the GNS is easier to set since the frequencies can be changed up or down..  ;-)

The CT206 will get you into smaller, bush type strips if you like that kind of flying (I do), and it's a better sightseeing plane with the unobstructed view to the side. I always feel a little cramped flying a light twin for sightseeing unless it's a high-wing like the MU-2 or Twin Otter where the engines and wing aren't obstructing the view. 

 

Have you considered the Carenado C208B Grand Caravan? That's one of my favorite planes. Faster than the piston single-engine Cessnas, but you can still get into tight little bush strips. A great steam gauge cockpit with weather radar. The large windscreen and high wing make it excellent for sightseeing. 

 

If you want faster, heavier, and learning twin engine turboprop ops, then go for the B200.
