Cruising at FL180 over Ketchikan and lamenting ORBX....

Recommended Posts

Here I am at FL180....cruising at a steady 30 FPS...smooth as silk, unless clouds change up for that brief pause-freeze, and really lamenting that we do not have ORBX-Global for this simulator. What an amazing world it could be, with ORBX involvement for the XPX franchise. If that were the case...there would be a ton of following adopters like there's no tomorrow!

XPX gives you stellar FPS performance, and only needs what ORBX already provides for FSX/P3D.

What a view, I would have this very moment...and would be lovin' it.....

C'mon John....time to put your big toe into the water....at least work on an ORBX-G cross-over....

Build the play field...and they will come....

Personally speaking I find those osm continent sceneries along with the v2 mesh do enough for me to feel immersed, and they are around 100% cheaper. With x plane I seem to spend so much time trying to keep the plane under control to have much time to look out the window anyway! I'm not really sure how I feel about orbx as a company either though to be honest.

I can assure you, I have seen places as they are (as close as flight simulation can get) in real life using simheaven's scenery, World2Xplane and HD mesh V2. The only thing I'd like to have from ORBX are their GA airports. For the rest, I've found better, more accurate scenery.

Have a look here, you don't need Orbx.
