STABILIZER message and siren

Recommended Posts

Before Cockpit Preparation, I have the siren and the message STABILIZER. I cannot get rid of it.

The non-normal checklist doesn't help me.

What is causing this? How do I correct it?

Cheers, Richard

Did you load the aircraft using the Cold/Dark panel state?

If so, don't until you get SP1.

is the trim within the green band? I encountered a similar message on rwy line-up. I found out that my trim was not within the green band.

Kyle,

No, from a saved flight file that I had created myself.

No power on deck, and at stand.

Then I turned the two central hydraulics switches to ON and everything went OK!

Dominik,

I cannot set the trim without power.

Does this mean that I have to have the two central pneumatics switch set before Cockpit Prep?

Thanks for your help so far.

Cheers, R

Hi Richard,

here are some excerpts from FCOM 9.20.13:

Stabilizer Shutdown
If uncommanded stabilizer motion is sensed, hydraulic power to the stabilizer trim
control module that caused the motion is automatically shut off. If a module is
inoperative due to an automatic shutdown or another failure, the EICAS advisory
message STABILIZER C or STABILIZER R is displayed. The stabilizer remains
operative through the remaining stabilizer trim control module.
If both stabilizer trim control modules automatically shut down or fail, the EICAS
warning message STABILIZER is displayed. The STABILIZER warning is also
displayed if automatic shutdown fails to stop uncommanded motion.
The center and right stabilizer cutout switches, located on the aisle stand, control
hydraulic power to the respective stabilizer trim control module. Placing both
switches in the CUTOUT position removes all hydraulic power from the
stabilizer. The EICAS advisory message STABILIZER CUTOUT is displayed
when both stabilizer cutout switches are in the CUTOUT position. The
STABILIZER warning message is no longer displayed.

just try placeing both STAB cutout switches to...cutout.
Hope this helps..tell us how it goes
warm regards,
H.Mahesh

I had this warning and I searched the forums for a post about a bug, I hope it is fixed in the sp. If you are flying a 2nd leg in FSX without quitting the sim, you need to trim one step up from what the fmc recommends. I set my trim according to the fmc takeoff page of 3.50, but received that warning when taking off. The bug is fixed by setting 3.51, a little higher than the required trim, then the message goes away.

Definate trim setting, when your entering the CG value in the FMC it gives you a trim value. Click the FCTL page on EICAS and input trim from the pitch trim knob near the throttle levers, up for higher trim figures and down to reduce the trim. I always start from C+D panel state
