Plan-G and Freetrack

Recommended Posts

Hi, i am trying to get working Plan-G and Freetrack together.
Until today i was able to use freetrack with no problems, with TrackIR interface and Simconnect enabled.
Today i was trying to get Plan-G working from another computer via network, and when i set simconnect.xml, it works well, but Freetrack stops working.
If i delete simconnect.xml freetrack works again, but obviously Plan-G stops working.
Here's my simconnect.xml:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?>
<SimBase.Document Type="SimConnect" version="1,0">
  <Descr>SimConnect Server Configuration</Descr>
  <Filename>SimConnect.xml</Filename>
<SimConnect.Comm>
    <Disabled>False</Disabled>
    <Protocol>IPv4</Protocol>
    <Scope>Global</Scope>
    <Address>192.168.0.3</Address>
    <MaxClients>64</MaxClients>
    <Port>4506</Port>
    <MaxRecvSize>4096</MaxRecvSize>
    <DisableNagle>False</DisableNagle>
  </SimConnect.Comm>

  <SimConnect.Comm>
    <Disabled>False</Disabled>
    <Protocol>Auto</Protocol>
    <Scope>local</Scope>
  </SimConnect.Comm>
</SimBase.Document>

I think the problem is here somewhere...
What can i do?

Copied from my reply to your other post:

Freetrack is quite old software and hasn't been updated for a few years now. Much better to use FacetrackNoIR (http://facetracknoir...ome/default.htm) which not only works better but is being regularly updated and, best of all, it's free! It uses the Simconnect API so works perfectly along side Plan-G. Use FSX SimConnect as the game protocol and PointTracker as your tracker source (not sure which version comes with FacetrackNoIR but 1.1 is the latest and is available from http://sourceforge.net/projects/ftnoirpt/). The Accela filter makes the head tracking much smoother than Freetrack and is easily customised to your preferences (smoothness vs speed). Your existing Freetrack IR point source should have no problems working with it. It takes a little tweaking to get it perfect but the result is just about indistiguishable from TrackIR. FacetrackNoIR is a highly under-rated piece of software which deserves to be much better known.
