Scenery advise request

Recommended Posts

I already have a full P3D setup, but simply because of the 64-bit structure from x-plane, I'm getting very curious to give it a try.

Problem I'm having (same as with P3D and FSX before that) is the default scenery. I'm mostly fly smaller aircrafts at low altitude, because I like to sit back and enjoy the view.

I find a lot of airports and small areas, but to start with a new sim, I'm not imediatelly going to spend a ton of money on so many small areas to get a little coverage. Therefor I would like to start with a base with global coverage. And I dont mean it should be cheap, or free, but more like a reasonable amount to make a decent start. Think of something comparable to an FTX Global/FTX Vector/FSG2010-combination, so I can start with a basic, yet serious global improvement, which I could always improve more by adding airports or smaller areas. Only thing is, I'm not familliar with x-plane addons at all. I dont have a clue what names to look for and at the places I usealy go for my P3D stuff, I dont find much. Also with googling I find so many things to check out, which all turned out to be smaller areas so far, that it's turning into quite a time costly undertaking.

Some advise on some global scenery addons would be very much appreciated. Or addons that need a couple of packages for a complete global upgrade would also be fine, like UTX/GEX, as long as I can upgrade globaly in the same style/coloring/resolution of graphics, everything in the same style/look/feel is important to me.

Cheers!

Maarten

FTX Vector is a default feature in X-Plane. You'll even find a lot more vectors like small streets and rivers.

If you want a more detailed mesh and land-class and more up to date vectors, just visit this website:

You'll find HD sceneries for Europe, North America, New Zealand, and soon Japan.

If you want photo sceneries and OpenStreetMap buildings, you can visit these pages:
