Weather Radar not working with ASN

Recommended Posts

Had the same problem with the radar. No returns at LHR with the storms clearly visible.

Reinstalled FSUIPC and then deleted the ini. Restarted FSX. Reset my controls in FSUIPC.

Then I ran the Xgauge Wizard from within ASN. As I run ASN across a network I thought maybe the radar gauge wasn't installed in the 777 correctly.

Well it worked. Started up at LHR and bingo radar returns.

that is caused by using the shader3 mod, no fix

thanks for your help, do you know if this will be fixed? My water is better with the shaders3 and I like to keep it

You have to install xgauge into the 777? Are you sure?

I got my radar working after I installed the Xgauge, I still have the problem with CTD's when the test button is pushed, but I can live with that!!

Thanks

It cannot be fixed - the Shader mod modifies how the sim renders graphics, there is nothing we can do.

I installed the XGuage, but I'm still not getting any returns on the weather radar whatsoever.

We'll be putting up a radar issues knowledgeable entry soon by the way that should help with some of these issues you guys are seeing. I had to verify some things with the HiFi guys first.

I started this flight just to test the radar weather but I realized this problem so I went into the fog

I scored the occurrence with the arrows, anyone else had this problem when he entered the fog?

Are you saying those red arrows in this shot appear in low visibility using Shader 3.0 Mod? I also use the Shader 3.0 mod but haven't seen this issue at all.

I may have chosen to not install xgauge long ago when first installing asn, when my flight is done, halfway across the pacific now flying CKK222, I will run the installer again. Maybe that is why I am not seeing any green returns for precipitation.

Tom, I think your visibility is not zero, when it is zero the panel changes to gray.

I may have to skip the WX function.  I am running out of space on my 128 GB SSD.  I have only 12GB left.  Active Sky is 3.5 GB - that's huge.  I don't I can install it on the 1.5TB 2nd hard drive.

I took a look in the 77X_debug_log.txt and saw "readPrecipData: Previous cycle not finished." 284 times in the log. May or may not be useful as I've solved my problem with it by deleting the FSUIPC.ini file way before this debug log was created.

Just checking are you guys pressing the WXR button on the MCP ?  I could not get my radar to work (ASN Networked) and was messing around with the buttons and then finally decided to press the WXR button and voila it worked.  I have not seen this mentioned here so wanted to ensure the basics are covered.

Here the panel went gray when I walked into the darkest and dense layer of fog, the soil did not realize this "effect"

Not on my system! No matter what visibility I have flown in including zero visibility, I have not seen this issue. The only thing I can think of, is in addition to the AllowShader30=1 in the fsx.cfg file. I also have the AllowShader20=1 as well. This allows me to use DX10 when I want to, without having to go back to Shader 2.0.

Are you sure your Active sky is Active Sky Next? My ASN install is only122MB. Are you sure you don't mean AS2012? That may need 3.5GB because it includes textures, ASN does not. If it is AS2012, the WXR radar won't work anyway!

Thanks
