July 19, 201411 yr ...so am in the process of downloading Pilot's FTX Global 2010 Edition Custom Mesh. I read the blurb on the sales page..and it sounded like the final slice of meat to make my ORBX sub...all that more tasty, lol. I had such an enjoyable flight last evening, in FSX...from England to Germany...that I decided to have it all....the full ORBX Global 'deal'. I had custom mesh files for FS9, and what a difference it made to my simming..and still does with that great sim. The fact that this edition is FSX-certified by ORBX to run seamlessly, and that the developers used this layer to beta..and publish their teaser screen grabs made up my mind for me. I love this hobby..and the cost for this product, will be amortized over many years of FSX/P3D enjoyment. Has anybody else decided to add the 'final' layer, and if so, how do you rate the 'full treatment'? Post Edit: I have tried for 1.5 hours...and I have only got the first of 6 parts to download uncorrupted from The Flight Sim Store. Each attempt at the last five part zips has been to a download that completes its size in GB's, but will not open. This might be the first time, I seek a refund/charge-back. Dang..... I am using the unzipper they state will unzip the zip files. I really wanted this...
July 19, 201411 yr Author Has anybody successfully downloaded all 6 zip files for this product? This is the first time ever, that I have had a total failure to download from the Flight Sim Store. Even the first file that I thought was good, also ended up being corrupt. Would like to hear from anybody that got a full download that installed.... Thanks
July 19, 201411 yr Maybe a good idea to use a download manager for something that big? http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/
July 19, 201411 yr Also make sure you have sufficient free space in your drive(s) to allow the uncompressing routine to work.
July 19, 201411 yr Any good mesh work. It's all compiled from the same sources anyway. Use FSGENESIS myself, but only installed for areas I need Glenn Ryzen 3700X, X570 Pro Wifi, 32GB 3600mhz RAM, Nvidia Titan Xp "Galactic Empire", RM750x PSU, H700 case, 2x NVMe M2 SSD, 1x SATA SSD
July 19, 201411 yr Author I am using a recommended Download Manager...am using WINRAR..and still can NOT get a good download of any of the 6 parts of this product. Each part finishes its download, but will not open by either WINRAR or WINZIP. I'll try tomorrow or Monday..and if it still is a no show...will seek a refund from the Flight Sim Store. I am totally bummed out.... This is the first bust purchased from them. I had no trouble at all downloading all the parts of ORBX EuropeLC and then opening the zips. They were the same size as per part... I think something is screwed up with their zips for this product. Also make sure you have sufficient free space in your drive(s) to allow the uncompressing routine to work. Thanks...I have ample space. What is happening is that the zip files will NOT open to both recommended zip programs right off the download page for the product, after they complete their download. This sucks.... Ses

July 20, 201411 yr Author Hi Ses, you might want to contact FlightSim Store directly to assist you in solving your problem. I have FSGlobal Ultimate in boxed version (I got a legal version on ebay and had it within two days at my doorstep) plus all the ORBX FTX goodies, including Global Base, Global Vector and now also Global LC and I can ensure you, it has transformed by simming experience. I did a flight yesterday along the Norwegian coast into some of the fjords. Simply stunning!! Bernd Thanks Bemd. I figured out (hope..I figured it out, lol) what was going on. I saw 6 files to download. I assumed that they all were seperate zip files that had to be opened in sequence. So...after the first file, I downloaded the second...and tried to open it. I only figured it out today..that actually, there is only ONE active zip file...the first...and that the other's are sub-files that the first calls up to open up and unzip. I was trying to open the other five...and of course could not...so thinking they were corrupt. I am going to download all again..and then open up the first and unzip. I'm sure that it will call each other sequential file..and drop them to the folder. I was so frustrated..for I wasted at least 24 GB of provider band-width, and I feel on the download page, it should have been made clear that the first was to be opened after downloading all six parts...and the others were storage containers for the first, true zip. That would have solved all my headaches! Thanks for your help..and am so looking forward to the higher mesh. I hope they have in the FTX certified version, no more flat airports as some have reported in the early adoption of this product. Cheers!
