Can anyone help with this problem? Since reloading FS9 onto a complete reinstallation on my PC when I select the Flight 1 Dreamfleet 727, FS9 always gives me an instant CTD! Anyone else seen this?Kev

I've had absolutely no problems with that aircraft, and my question may be a stupid one. But, have you asked your question in the DF727 forum? That's probably the quickest place/way to get the definitive answer.Darrell

Hi Kev,I'm just bumping this back to the top for you.Feel free to ask whatever questions you like in this forum, IMHO. :-) Me, I like asking my questions here at Avsim instead of having to register for umpteen different forums, and of course then you have to put up with people that instead of helping to answer your question, try to steer you to go somewhere else.I disagree with that, though.I guess we should all only use Microsoft's Forums then. :-lol :-lolThat's what the members are here for, to help others out. :-)BTW, just for giggles, have you tried loading a default aircraft and then switching. Barring that, it sounds like maybe your install got corrupted.Did you install in a limited user name under WinXP, or in Admin mode? That is if you have WinXP. I've ran across a few developers here and there that don't configure their install programs the way Microsoft advises them too concerning Admin & Limited User profiles. And some don't even bother to tell you these things. They just expect you to leave your machine in Admin mode exposed to all kinds of nasty things on the Internet. Of course, I just visited those alleged help forums, to see if I could locate a thread that could help you, and it says in an asterisk laden thread to read some FAQ on the 727 before you post, except that link is broken. Go Figure. :-lol Maybe one of the MODS over there will fix that if they have some time today. Here is the link to that Forum:http://forums.flightsim.com/cgi-bin/dcforu...&conf=DCConfID4Hope This Helps,Joe****************Grab My FREEWARE Voice recognition Profiles here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=58334]Cessna 172 Voice Profile[/a][a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=60740]FSD Avanti Voice Profile[/a].You will need the main FREEWARE Flight Assistant program to use it, get it here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=genutils&DLID=39661]Flight Assistant 2.2[/a]

Looks like they fixed their link to the FAQ. :-)Try this one:http://forums.flightsim.com/cgi-bin/dcforu...&conf=DCConfID4I wonder how long it was incorrect?Of course if they fixed the link over there today, someone there must have at least seen your question too. Maybe they will help you by answering it here. ;-)Regards,Joe*************PS - Saw this over there about Reinstalls after a configuration change on a computer, So this may apply. Try this.From:http://forums.flightsim.com/dcforum/DCForumID31/10.html/SNIP'Invalid License or Registration Messages" This error will occur if you moved to another computer, restored off a CD ROM, changed the configuration of your computer, or deleted folders that contain your license file (C:Flight One Software contains copies of your license file). To fix, you will need to restore the license from the main EXE you downloaded by pressing the Reinstall button while connected to the Internet (you can cancel the Setup after the program is extracted if you do not need to reinstall the actual application). If you lost your key, or you are getting a message saying it needs to be reactivated, go to our automated service page at http://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=wrapperservice. Remember, keys (*.key) are different than license (*.lic) files."/END SNIP****************Grab My FREEWARE Voice recognition Profiles here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=58334]Cessna 172 Voice Profile[/a][a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=60740]FSD Avanti Voice Profile[/a].You will need the main FREEWARE Flight Assistant program to use it, get it here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=genutils&DLID=39661]Flight Assistant 2.2[/a]

Would you by chance be having a "software key" issue. That is by reinstalling the operating system on your PC, do you have to reinitilize your software authorization key?Tom

Joe (sonar5):1. We provide support at OUR forums (and that also includes the F1 forums) and no others. If we do provide support at other forums it is as a courtesy only, and is not to be expected. Does PSS / PMDG ?FSD, etc. development staff provide support at forums other than their own? For the most part, the answer is no.You may not feel that this should be so, but this is not your "call" to make. While you may think that AVSIM is the ONLY forum to be at, the fact is if we had support staff visiting other forums, we would have to visit numerous other ones. Ultimately, the time spent doing this would take away from development time. YOU may feel that we should respond at any forum a question is asked at, but when you purchase our product we indicate where / how support is provided. This is no different than with any software product.Perhaps when you start developing FS add-ons, you will spend your time visiting all of these forums. That will be your choice.2. Since support, which = labor, which = $$$ is the number one cost after development, having dedicated forums makes sense. It saves time, and is actually most efficient. Controlling such costs is a wise thing to do.3. Your agenda here is not lost on us and, yes, I did get your e-mail to me, but after reading it felt there was no way any rational response could have any positive affect on you. Consider this my response. 4. I fully expect that you will continue your "agenda" here, and that is fine by me, we could use the publicity, and I have already received e-mails from A36 customers who noted your posts here, and said that it provided a further incentive to purchase it! ;-)Kev, The DF727 support forum is located here and, yes, the link is correct:http://forums.flightsim.com/cgi-bin/dcforu...&conf=DCConfID4Between DF development staff and Flight 1 Certified Porfessionals, We are happy to provide support to our customers, we only ask that it be at the forums we provide for such, not the forums that Joe (sonar5) thinks that we should provide them at.I am truly sorry that this thread turned out as it did, and ask that the original author, Kev, (it seems like his issue was hijacked by Joe and his agenda) kindly visit our support forum for further help.Joe: If you are wondering why I am here and not offering an "answer" to Kev's problem, it is because I am not a member of the 727 team. That is Paul Golding and team's product. You can be certain that if I had an answer that I would have provided it (it is not likely a "key" issue). Thus, my suggestion to visit the DF727 support forum, as opposed to staying here and listening to you do little but express your opinion while providing no help either. ;-)My apologies to you Kev, and I hope you understand, and would be most kind to visit us at the DF727 support forum. Thanks, and so sorry for your trouble. :-)Regards,http://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...R_FORUM_LOU.jpg

So Just to recap this thread Lou, the following has occurred.Lou Said:"Perhaps when you start developing FS add-ons, you will spend your time visiting all of these forums. That will be your choice."Actually I provide my email address, or pop in to a thread when I see a need. Unless you then attempt to define "FS add-ons" by your version of what that definition entails. :-)Lou Said:"Thus, my suggestion to visit the DF727 support forum, as opposed to staying here and listening to you do little but express your opinion while providing no help either"I provided no help, huh.... Now that is a Good One. Perhaps you should scroll up and read my posts again, please.1) A Moderator from fs.com comes over here and instead of helping a member here, advises them to go somewhere else.2) Said moderator does not even include a link to alleged support site, fs.com, or flight1.com, dreamfleet...etc...who knows which one he was referring to.And let's see what I did here:I did this:1) I gave my opinion that others should not be driven away or advised to go somewhere else to ask questions that members here may be able to answer, considering the vast amount of experience of members here.2) I advised him to try loading a default aircraft, and then switching to the payware product.3) I asked him if he installed it under a Limited User profile or an Admin Profile under WinXP, to clarify his situation.4) I EXPOSED A FLAW of YOURS over at fs.com, where it seems you were not even aware of, that told members there that before they post a question to go read a FAQ. Only guess what, the link was broken, and you folks apparently were not even aware of it until I discovered it, and posted the FLAW here.5) Someone there then fixed the flaw, edited the post, and corrected their error.6) Once the FLAW at fs.com was fixed, I read through the FAQ there and found a thread that may apply to his installation.7) Under Fair Use, I posted relevant information and even included a Link back to the thread that may apply.8) Also within that link, I left another link that would bring the user back to the flight1 site in case he needed a replacement key.9) This thread wasn't hijacked, I gave sound rationale advice whether you can see that or not. I mean it was you who wrote the thread that I referred to in the first place. :-lol :-lolSo explain this Lou:You said above and I quote exactly:"Joe: If you are wondering why I am here and not offering an "answer" to Kev's problem, it is because I am not a member of the 727 team. That is Paul Golding and team's product. You can be certain that if I had an answer that I would have provided it"So you claim to not be part of the team, yet you are the one who authored the FAQ link for the 727 thread, and lookie here, you are also the same one who wrote the "Invalid License or Registration Messages" thread, so you can feign no knowledge of this topic all you want, but the truth, the links, and yes, Lou, the facts suggest otherwise.Who wrote this thread which is directly related to the original poster's question: It shows up as you Lou.http://forums.flightsim.com/dcforum/DCForumID31/10.htmlSo unless you say that others post using your screenname, I don't see how you can openly pleas no knowledge. So why should I or anyone else believe anything you say, when the facts suggest otherwise in this thread alone. So In conclusion, we've had 2 moderators from fs.com show up here and pretty much not even try and help the user out, IMHO, and all I did was try to help the user out with GOOD, relevant information that would help him resolve his issue. For you to read anything else into that smells of not me having an agenda, but perhaps you should look inward at yourself and your actions. You know, have you ever thought that some developers users may not want or enjoy posting at developers forums for whatever reasons, or that users don't want to register at umpteen forums Everytime they have a question. And doesn't that choice belong to the user, and not the developer? And I will feel free to answer any support questions I please whether a developer agrees or not, thank you very much. And as long as I am truthful in my posts, I rest on those, and my integrity is in tact. :-)I wonder if all multi topic sites took the same feeling some developers had to every blatant payware ad that appears, if these same developers would enjoy that, or every time a beta screenshot appeared, the user was prompted to post it in the developer forums instead. Some developers want it both ways, IMHO. Some want to potentially dissuade anyone from learning about fixing mishaps except at developer specific forums, and then on the other hand, the betatesters, stealth developers, and minions brag about the product till the sales all come in.Maybe perhaps the user didn't know where to go, or how to search for his answer.Maybe in this case, he didn't know how to post at flight1's site, or dreamflleet's, or fs.com, so he felt comfortable posting here.Well, at least I tried to help him out, My Integrity is 100% in tact, and I stand by the facts words, and evidence that I posted. BTW- Thanks for fixing the flaw in your authored thread over there and for fixing the link. I'm sure your users appreciate your prompt response after finally being notified by me that it was broke in the first place. :-)Here is another link for you. It will tell what other links may be broke at that place. I suggest a purchase order as my time diagnosing problems at that site is limited. ;-)Of course, I found a PAYWARE version of a link validator and it starts at $95.00, but I'm sure customer service is important to some.Web Link Validator:http://www.relsoftware.com/wlv/ And it is not an issue of whether a developer has to provide support here or anywhere else, it is an issue of making people feel like idiots for even asking a question except where the developers want them to.Oh and it's a good thing Microsoft doesn't share some developers views, imagine for a moment every time someone asked a question a MS rep came in saying you should only ask this question in Redmond. :-lolHappy Sunday,Sonar5****************Grab My FREEWARE Voice recognition Profiles here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=58334]Cessna 172 Voice Profile[/a][a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=60740]FSD Avanti Voice Profile[/a].You will need the main FREEWARE Flight Assistant program to use it, get it here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=genutils&DLID=39661]Flight Assistant 2.2[/a]
