AMD with the NGX and Jetstream

Recommended Posts

Hi guys.

I have a very bad pc, and a very hig dislike for defaults. I want realsim, not with longhaul Aircraft. I like the Jetstream 41 and B737-800 and I am looking at getting an AMD FX8350 CPU. Now, how do you think it will run with 8GB RAM, the AMD FX 8350 O/C at 4.8 Ghz with the Nvidia GTX 650?? This is what I can afford.

Any ideas on FPS??

Intel is the processor for FSX. At the mo an i7 Haswell is the best one I have mine overlooked to 4.6 and running well with fps locked at 25.next gen Intel Broadwell I beleive is due for release later in the year.

Yeah, go with intel. AMD will do the job as well but Intel is just slightly better. It all depends on the funds you have at your disposal, really.

The J41 is pretty framerate friendly - but any decent PC can run the NGX very well. Just don't crank up the autogen and cloud sliders up too high and you're good.

I had an FX-8350 system if I were you I'd get the I5 4690K its about the same price and will run FSX and the PMDG birds way better My AMD at 4.5ghz gave me about 20 on the ground at FSDT KLAX with high medium settings with my 4790K at 4.5ghz I get about 35-40 FPS with almost full settings.

ATP MEL,CFI,CFII,MEI.

I have close to this spec (AMD R9 270 graphics card) and it runs very well. FPS with the 777 are around 40 FPS at Gatwick 2000. It only gets better after takeoff. You must be realistic about FSX. As a piece of software it is poorly written. If you think you're going to max all the sliders, forget it.

Don't cut corners on the motherboard! I have the 990FX chipset on mine which is the top chipset (lower versions of chipsets remove features and hurt performance - Intel are no exception in this area either).

Don't buy the "Intel is better" rubbish. Here's why: http://uk.reuters.com/article/2014/06/12/us-intel-court-eu-idUSKBN0EN0M120140612

Best regards,

Robin.
