July 22, 201411 yr Getting the whole world mesh would be more expensive with FSGenesis or with Pilot's Global 2010?
July 22, 201411 yr Well, I downloaded it and after I was in it, it looked pretty good. I only ventured once into it tonight. The installation appeared to go too fast for how large the file was. When I started FS, I got 8 SCENERY ERRORS: C:FSGX2010\oce\SCENERY in area 100 not found, and 7 others....eur in area 102, asi in 104, csa in 106, afr in 108,ant in 110, nam in 112 and finally Local meshes\SCENERY in 114. What does this mean? Did my installation fail in some areas or what? Stan Correction Edit: SORRY. I didn't notice there were 6 HUGE files to download from the site! I just downloaded the first one and thought I was finished. Whew! I am now downloading the 2nd one (says 3 hours). Should take me a few days to get it all it seems, based on my time schedule. I'm going to bed now.
July 22, 201411 yr The FTX Vectors AEC tool will fix this problem to a degree, but only with default scenery, not 3rd party mesh. AND
July 22, 201411 yr William, When my flight is finished I will post some shots for you. Thank you Sir. My concern is that the area I fly mostly will be affected in a negative way. If elevations that are a little different from the default result in a height change for the airports I visit, this will be an issue for me. William Sequeira
July 22, 201411 yr As product is not cheap I still hesitate to buy that one. I am high flyer only, so my question is if I really need it, will I notice significant change from high above ? Artur

July 22, 201411 yr Author Well, I downloaded it and after I was in it, it looked pretty good. I only ventured once into it tonight. Also, when you install, you will ONLY be allowed to install to a drive of your choice...you can not, let's say...point to the Addon Scenery Folder. When you fire up either FSX or P3D, the program will LOOK for exactly where the Pilot install program created the folder that contains all the continent folders. It truly can be left there...as long as you don't by accident move it, or worse, delete it. You can also move it I guess...and then use the Scenery Lib to re-point to the files...but truly, why? It works where it goes..... The FTX Vectors AEC tool will fix this problem to a degree, but only with default scenery, not 3rd party mesh. I'd have to disagree with you. Before I installed Pilot's...Geneva was normal and melded into the surrounding area. I then installed Pilot's FS 2010FTX edition..and went for a spin. Geneva was on a raised flat surface...as others are showing in the pics. I then closed FSX, ran the Vector AEC tool. Let it do its thing...and then pressed APPLY. I then fired up FSX, and went right back to Geneva..and low and behold...it was once more as normal. I believe that if you use the FSX version of the Pilot's offerings...it has been purposefully optimized to indeed work alongside Global, Vector, and OpenLC. Hence...the defined 'FSX' version in the first place. Here's a tip...if you decided to install all continents, I suggest that: You go into the Scenery Lib of either FSX, or P3D...and un-check the MESH continents you are not flying in on a regular basis, to save FSX/P3D bandwidth. I have for myself right now, only Europe and all 5 North Americas, as well as one other, I believe is Canada. If I want to fly into Asia, or Africa, or the Arctic ..I only have to re-click that mesh folder...and it will get added when I leave the Scenery Library for that flight session. Happy Flying!
July 22, 201411 yr Ahh, nice to know that it is broken up by region. When you are running the install on this beast, is it also labeled so that you can pick which ones you want to install by region? Or does it only show up in the file library. William Sequeira

You can pick at install time, any of the regions....or the whole bread-basket....
July 22, 201411 yr Well folks,....this has been one of the roughest rides to download and install a piece of software, I have ever downloaded and installed. It is done. It was a rocky road...corrupt downloads, bad installs...all of it. But...I am now past that, and have FINALLY a certified install of Pilot's Global Mesh FSX edition. Thanks for your "mini-review" of this product, which I and many others actually have used since 2010! Why didn´t you buy the FS Global Ultimate Mesh? July 22, 201411 yr Just in case anyone else is still confused...(like I was FS Global 2010 is the world mesh which is downloadable. It claims to offer 19m-76m resolution. FS Global Ultimate is available on DVD only and does not cover the entire world, just specific areas of it. It claims to offer better 5m mesh resolution for some areas. I don't see the point in paying for high quality mesh for places I never fly so I'll stick to the excellent freeware mesh or ProMesh products. Given up on FSGenesis after they removed all my product links from my account at their website! I use the FTX Vector tool to adjust airport elevation issues after installing add-on mesh. Has so far solved any issues I had. Hope this is helpful. Chillblast Core i5 14600KF Liquid Cooled RTX 4070 SUPER 32GB RAM. Internet: 1 Gig Fibre. HoneyComb Throttle & Flight System.
