Pmdg 777-300, Ezdok, Asn, Weather Turbulence Not Showing

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Ok here's the thing:

-> PMDG 777-300  (All weather radar settings (tilt and gain) at default)

-> ASN

-> EZDOK

I don't know if anyone has experienced this. I know that PMDG 777-300 weather radar depicts turbulences where there are precipitations...

What is strange is that last night, took off from EIDW heading to OMDB, there was fog (no rain). But there was turbulence as the plane was shaking badly....

The weather radar ner displayed anything.....I selected from ND and went from WRX  to WRX+T etc...Nothing.

Is this normal ?

Also on the ground, you can see the weather being really bad but yet the radar does not show anything....

The radar works if there is rain..

Maybe I am doing something wrong (and probably so)....Can someone helps ?

Thanks,

Well the WRX only shows rain. With WRX+T it can show turbulence but not CAT ( clear Air Turbulence ), CAT can not be detected, so maybe the AC went through CAT but strange as the weather was really bad.

Also can you precise if you were in auto / manual mode ( tilt , gain setting ?) what at which phas eof the flight climb, descent, cruise ??

read also the WRX 2100 guide, it's really interesting :)

Well that means that there were no precipitation. To be sure go to ASN Flight plan and look if it says that there is some precipitation.

You can manually set the weather on ASN : add precipitation and turbulence and see if you get a magenta thing on your ND.

You can also use the map function in ASN, Zoom to a detail level (90NM or less), set the map mode to "Track up" and compare the map in ASN with the WXR overlay on the ND, as long as the range on the Map and the ND are set to the same you should see a similar picture.
