Flight1 Partnership With Dovetail Games For The Steam Ver Of Fsx...

Recommended Posts

I read this as them packaging addons as DLC from Flight1 that is already available.

The pros are that you can just buy it, and it's downloaded and installed. No fuss. Question is will it be the same price?

People are going to complain about the addon costs anyway. Flight sim stuff is often MORE expensive than the TS2014 stuff!

Good move as it gives new FSX Steam users easier access to high-quality addons. FLight1 has the best service bar none for Flightsim addons.

No truer words.

We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.

A lot of the complaints from TS'ers is that the quality isn't very good of these addons and dovetail leaves gamebreaking bugs in. Flight1 has quality addons that are well worth the price.

It would be very nice to have a 64bit version of the Simulator, these days most companies provide 32bit and 64bit versions of their software, would a 64bit version of FSX be very difficult to create?

I don't know anything about coding, so just wondering if such a task would be beyond the new Licence holder 's capability. It certainly would open a new world of possibilities and generate some serious new income for them, seeing how many of us wouldn't hesitate in buying the new version if they did a decent job of it.

I wonder though, Flight1 offers a no haggle 30 day full refund on all their products and Steam is notoriously known for rarely giving refunds. Wonder how will they address that?

In short, yes, very difficult to convert FSX to 64 bit.  The closest so far is Prepar3D by Lockheed Martin.

My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.

No, even if this was possible, DTG would not be allowed to do this under the terms of the agreement.

Even that is still 32 bit.
