P3Dv2.2 Out Of Memory

I'm facing Out of memory problem on P3D 2.2

 

I have:

i7 3770k

16gb ram

Asus GTX 680 DirectCU II Top 2gb

 

Shouldn't have this problem...

Can you be more specific?  For instance, what add ons were you using at the time, where were you flying, etc.  I have had .NET crashes, but have yet to have a single OOM, and that is with all of the flight beam airports, fSdream team, add on planes, etc.

This type of "Out of Memory" has nothing whatever to do with your system RAM. It would occur even if you had only 512MB of system RAM.

 

What we need to know is what specific operating system you are running, as well as what, if any, add-on products are installed.

I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64bits.

That's what I use.

 

The crash happened with CS 777-200 at EGLL, but can happen with any aircraft and whatever I am, like after 3hrs flying and suddenly it crashes.

Silly question but is it actually an oom crash or potentially something else like a .net crash? What does the error message say.

I also sometimes get an OOM error with FTX England in the London area, in more complex planes. There is something about this scenery that makes it very memory-hungry, more so than other complex urban areas like FTX PNW Seattle or FTXGlobal NYC. Reducing building autogen to dense and LOD by a couple of notches tends to prevent it (I even have a special 'Airliner at London' graphics profile for this).

 

I've never had an OOM elsewhere in 2.2. The previous version often had them, but LM did some major tree memory optimizations in 2.3.

Your should probably state what settings you are using in P3D as well. I bet there are a few memory leaks within the higher settings like cloud shadows.

 

You should also deactivate any scenery you aren't going to see. (it still loads into memory)

Maybe it's a graphic memory? I had GTX 670 also 2 Gb and sometimes that error very often on first release, and much less on v2.2. But after I switched to GTX 780 with 6 Gb the problem is gone. I know, 6 Gb is too much for Prepar, but I also use XplaneX where is a must, so I have what I have.

Oddly enough, I had my very first low memory message, followed by P3D 2.2 crashing over the UK. I have a very similar software setup to Berike. I was flying from London Heathrow in the Just Flight Freemium 757. Crashed after 15 minutes. I too have Global, Vector, OpenLC but not Orbx UK.
