Pfunk, by definition game design is art whether you agree of not, so why not just move on and stop being argumentative.

Wow - I never expected to see a super detailed KMBS done. I've flown out of that airport before on a 737 (I'm from Michigan originally).

Don't worry, it's art, i agree with your points.

Actually by definition game design is game design. Within it there is art and artistic expression and a whole lot of other stuff, but thats all beside the point.

The point was the other guy basically said because its art I should just accept the artist's choice to make it in FSX and not bother lamenting the choice.

Whats so hard about this? Im saying "It sucks that such talented people are creating such wonderful things in a platform that will probably make my computer groan and my frate rates crash when a more mature platform would really do it justice".

But apparently because its art I shouldn't think such negative thoughts and instead be in awe of it. It might be art, but its also software, and software has its own merits to live up to, namely usability and with respect to flight simulation frame rates are particularly relevant. At no point did I dismiss the extraordinary nature of what this particular developer is creating. Quite the contrary really. If I didn't think there was great value to it then I wouldn't bother.

Just pretend I'm lamenting a talented artist using inferior paint on a stained and frayed canvas or something.

good points!

I think perhaps he's envisioning seeing it used with something like the Orbx "Bob" character, walking around the terminal, before going out airside and then swapping over to the plane.

Yep that's what struck me.  A perfect place for "Bob" to take a leak and grab a Starbuck's between flights.

No, the airport is completely transparent, and made out of complete glass, so you see the inside from the outside.

It would be nice to add an option to install moving passengers inside the airport if its completely transparent, that would be entertaining at the pre flight preparation stage at the gate.

This is what I'm saying.

Since every polygon you add to the default sim affects framerates, I guess I will pick the scenery and see how much before I pass judgement  .

It's a wonder anything gets developed for the sim with such negativity.

Should add on aircraft developers include a detailed 3d cabin with detailed bathrooms? With a old sim like FSX and its limitations developers have had to shift their priorities to get every possible inch out of it. While the detail here is incredible and the building is glass I still think it's too much. I fly the aircraft. I don't wander through the airport or cabin so I don't want either affecting the sims performance. I know we don't know if it does but you don't know if it doesn't either.

Don't laugh. There was once  a 3d toilet that you could click on the handle and get the flush sound. It was for FS9 but I don't remember the aircraft. Bob.

Im pretty sure it was captain sim..
