F1 GTN 750 VC Integration

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if anyone has successfully installed the F1 GTN 750 into the VC.    I tried last night and the GTN 750 does not boot up, I only receive the Garmin title page and then it stays stuck on the next page.   If I manually add a 2D window without using the Config Utility, the popup does not power on, just a black screen.    I finally just used the Config Utility but would like to have it installed in the VC.

Thanks,

Mike Cameron

You need to add "UNIT1.VC" after the line in the panel.cfg for the GTN750.

Eg.... so it should look something like this   (but NOT these position values! - they're from a different aircraft) :)  :-

gauge09=F1GTN!GTN750,  3,113,503,473,UNIT1.VC

I just picked the CT 206H during the sale. Here is the best I could do.

Create the popup by running the FTH config tool. Click spots on the frames of the g 1000 or 530 will now work.

Hope this helps

Bump, old post.  Is there anything special about getting the gtn750 in the plane? I am confused as to your description of it.

It would appear that you can only shoehorn the GTN into the panel by manually editing the panel.cfg file (with Notepad).

What do you need to do to edit the panel.cfg to get the GTN 750 into the VC of the Carenado stationair 206 classic version (not the HD one)?  I used to do this sort of thing years ago with RXP garmins but have lost the knack. With a bit of copying and pasting using an old panel.cfg with the RXP garmins installed as guide I can get the 750 into the panel but it is unresponsive - can only get the popup to work from the views menu. Thanks.

If it is unresponsive, try turning off "Instrument Reflections".. sometimes that does the trick.

Thanks where do I find instrument reflections?

This the edit I currently have essentially what I had for the RXP garmins but inserting the 750 instead.  There some other RXP gauges as well.

Try shift-5 for the pop up which contains the reflection etc. control (if this doesn't work try shift-4 etc)

Thanks for your reply but I am a bit lost here.  Shift 5 simply overlays the 2d panel on top of the VC and shift 4 does nothing.  However I can bring up the pop up from the main FSX menu so whereabouts in the pop up is this reflection control?  Just to re emphasize, the aircraft I have is not the more recent HD version of the Stationair it is the one that comes with the amphibian and cargo variations and steam gauges  so nothing fancy -  they look like direct copies of the FS9 versions that were ported over to FSX in the early days - the panel.cfg files look the same.  At one time I had the RXP 430 and 530 working in these aircraft.

Bruce, the non HD versions of the C206 probably did not have Instrument Reflections as an option, so ignore that.  You may, however, not have any mouse access to the GTN screen.. and you will have to use the GTN popup for any adjustments.

Thanks Bert got that.  I could go back to using the RXP Garmins I know those can work in the VC of these aircraft but being able to import flightplans into the 750 is a big plus.  Got interested in this older Carenado 206 because it includes an amphibian. Also I have a fondness for the 206 as it has been the mainstay of mission aviation flying in Papua New Guinea for many years.

Yes my other go to plane for PNG.  I will PM you for the 750 mod (along with a few others).  My wife is off to PNG in a few weeks time to provide eye care for remote communities - she is an optometrist.  Always very nervous when the prospect of flying in PNG comes up - it is a notoriously unsafe place to fly in.  Lots of fun in the sim but a different matter in real life.

Hello, I know this is a dated thread but I made some adjustments so the units will be fully functional within the VC and won't require you to use the pop up units.

gauge00=F1GTN!GTN750VC,       45, -30, 284, 255,UNIT1

And for the steam version.
