Should the FO be setting WX Radar to "standby" after doing the weather test?

Recommended Posts

I noticed the FO setting the Wx radar to standby after completing the Wx Test during his originating flow. I thought the Wx radar goes to standby after pushback?

Thanks,

Mike

Yes  that's the correct procedure for all aircraft   I believe  since you don't wont the radar  transmitting  on the ground  whilst  taxing or being pushed back

stby  is  the same  as off( in a way its not off and its not  on) , since if  you turn to off you probably find  that you need  to do the test  again
