improve the graphic of my fsx

Hi All, 

 

I am trying to do my ppl and want to try on fsx most of the time and have a great quality image.

 

Can you please share your system specs you are running ?

 

I am running athlon x2 2 core 3200 mhz overclocked to 3400 mhz , 8gb ram at 800mhz and gtx 650 with 2gb of ram (1000mhz gpu) but the graphic doesn't look great on highest spec.

 

I have rex and activesky but again the quality is bad compared to some videos i have seen on youtube.

 

for great graphic does cpu matter the most or gpu?

 

any advise is much appreciated

The CPU is very important when it comes to FSX.  Quad cores above 3.4 GHz and preferable running at 4 GHz or faster seem to be the best.

Also dont always believe what you see on Youtube, alot of people record at half speed and then play it back at an increased rate ,then  add post effects to them. And its definitely a case of the faster your clock speed of the CPU then the better it runs, GPU is important too but not as important.

Since you mentioned seeing videos on YouTube, there are three people I am subscribed to that have great tutorials: FSXGenius (who is the only one of the three who uses an AMD processor and video card, as I do), frooglesim, and Mat Davies.

I've found that the parameters set in the fsx.cfg file has been extremely important, no matter what hardware setup I've had over the years.
