Real Life question about Grantley Adams International

Recommended Posts

Hi All, Hope this isn't too OT, I didn't know where else to go for this question. I will be traveling through Grantley Adams International Airport (BGI) in Barbados in June of this year. I have a long layover (4 hours), after a long flight (4:45 hrs) from EWR. I've been to the airport web site and there is a lot of constuction going on, and one passanger review from November 2003 said there was nothing available in terms of food and drink (due to constuction). Has anyone been there recently? The wife can get testy without food and libation :(, and stocking up on munchies in Newark is not desirable, wife also does not like Continentals food. If BGI is essentially closed for food service, I might try to go through St. Lucia instead. Any info would be greatly appreciated, since I am trying preserve the safety and eardurms of my fellow travelers (from testy wifey). If you have not guessed, she hates to fly. Thanks All!Steve

There are also a few convinience stores around the check in and waiting area. You don't want to go through St Lucia because it's a dump. Never been to the airport but my parents had some horror stories from that part of the island.
