Ad Aware is good, but I find that SpyBot Search and Destroy is a better program than Ad Aware. Just my two cents ;)

Good program. I've had no problems. I use it in conjunction with spywareblaster and spybot.

Thank's guy's! I got into a debate/argument with a fellow mechanic about whether or not the ad aware programs installed on our work computers were causing us not to be able to access our maintenance manuals,(No Paper Backup's!) amoung other major hard drive hackage going on;( He stated that he read on download.com in the reviews for the program, that 20% of the users had major issues! When I tried to explain that probaly 70% of peoples computers are so screwed up to begin with, that they blame the programs, he got upset with me! When I told him that I have been involved in flight simming since MSFS2000, one of the most demanding apps you can run on a computer and knew what I was talking about, and told him he should visit Avsim.com, he blew up at me, especially when I stated it was the porn sites that were being visited that were the major cause of our issues:-) I just needed some ammo. P.S, I am proud to be a part of this great knowledge base that is Avsim!

Jim, The local radio computer gurus here in ABQ think those programs are just great. Me, I am not sure and this is why. I have run both with no problems. Then after running the computer for several days, I deleted the cookies manually out of their folder in Win XP pro. Then I again ran both programs and not one piece of spy ware (cookie) was found). After trying this experiment several more times, I figured that I could do just as well with my removal method instead of using these two programs. I know which cookies I want to keep and the rest get trashed on a daily basis.Hopefully, I am not missing some program that might bury deep within the recesses of Windows. My computer seems to run just fine and the only other programs I run are my Panda Anti-virus Platinum http://www.pandasoftware.com/ and the "Free" pop-up-stopper found on the Cnet site. http://www.cnet.com/.Hope this helps.TerryPS: In 1971, a Jim Driscoll graduated from H.S. with me back in FWA. By chance, are you he?
