My night textures seem to have disappeared

Recommended Posts

Hello all, I was wondering if anyone knows why my cities are no longer lit up at night, instead they just look like a large blob of brown. I install scenery all the time, but I've never had this problem before and just noticed it the other day. Here is a screenshot:Thanks,Jeffhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/110740.jpg

Have they vanished globally--in all cities? If so, it sounds like something may have deleted or moved the night texture bmp's. If they are present in some places, it's possible that there's some landclass somewhere installed with a texture subfolder. If it's a global issue, try restoring the original textures from the FS install CD's. Someone will have to refresh the thread with the exact names to look for and the CD they're on if you can't find them on your own.-John

John,Thanks for your reply. So basically the best thing to do would be a full reinstall I guess. Well, I might as well format also. This is going to suck, I know what I'll be doing this weekend.Jeff

Have no idea why you would format or even choose to do a full reinstall. Doing either would erase the cause of the issue, and you may be able to identify what add-on or add-on install process caused the issue. In four years of FS2002 ownership and two years of FS2004, I've never had to reinstall but I have had to restore files from CD--it's a handy trick that saves a ton of effort.-John

I would do it the easier way, but at this point I have no idea where to start so I really don't see this as a realistic option. Jeff
